| | 2012-03-08 在宾夕法尼亚“山林”州公立小学，三年级开学后不久，学校便开始向学生提供免费的小、中、大提琴弦乐教育，聘请专职老师统一授课，学生可任选一种乐器跟班学习，如有变故也允许改换。乐器行配合教学进程上门开展租售业务。娃儿班上不少同学都报了名，每周三早上提前一小时到校参加集体训练。这种免费普及课为学生们广泛接触多种乐器打开了方便之门，也深受家长欢迎——对娃儿来说，若只为体验，则课后不必强迫练习，也不用顾虑因父母出资而不得不“珍惜”，避免了兴趣与执着之间的冲突。 据说学校的音乐指挥在宾州东部颇负盛名，由她监导的管弦乐队水平不凡；但若想角逐重要席位，光学不练终归不够。娃儿没正经摸过弦乐，对钢琴倒不算陌生。学琴两年来，他切身感受到技巧越深，基本功越不容懈怠——钢琴与一切表演艺术一样，一旦被要求“精益求精”，便无异于鸡蛋里挑骨头。就拿几天前准备钢琴三级考试来说，仅两首曲目便反复练习了两个月之久。因此，当得知可以兼学小提琴、中提琴、大提琴时，他并没有像家长们那样喜形于色，也不打算随波逐流，反而毅然放弃了尝试——他不想再受二遍苦、遭二茬罪。若不是担心好日子不长久，他倒也愿意让心绪飞扬、兴趣横溢。 我看着他坐在琴凳上反复弹那两首备考曲目，手指已经熟到可以闭着眼摸完，可表情里看不出厌倦，也没有雀跃——只是机械地、精确地完成一遍又一遍。他放弃选学弦乐的理由不是懒惰，是一种近乎世故的自我保护：他知道“喜欢”一旦变成“必须”，就会磨损成另一种东西。九岁的年纪，已经学会了用拒绝来保留兴趣的纯粹。我不知道这算早熟还是可惜，但看着他把那封报名表收进抽屉，没有不舍也没有挣扎，我忽然觉得，他或许比我们更早明白了“兼学”这个词的代价——不是时间，是把爱好的窗户一扇一扇推开，直到没有一扇被认真临窗过。而他选择的，是至少守住那扇已经打开一半的。  Mrs. Solaiman, Pianist Celebrated for Lunar New Year
