| Tips for young and beautiful skin (2) |
| Glycerin is an ingredient that closely resembles the skin\'s natural moisturizing factor, or NMF. Not only does glycerin quickly hydrate the skin, there is also evidence to suggest that it increases the skin barrier\'s ability to hold moisture. In other words, glycerin can actually make the skin more resistant to future drying, more than almost any other ingredient!
Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it attracts moisture to the skin. It’s water-soluble so it can be dissolved into water or alcohol, but not oils.
It can treat the dry skin on the hands and feet. It also can be used as an under-the-eye cream at night instead of regenerating creams. A little glycerin in the palms of the hands diluted with water makes for a great anti-frizzler in your hair.
You can buy pure glycerin from CVS (or any drug store). |
