| | 2012-04-14 当下在美国，踢足球相当流行，夸它为群众性体育运动，其实一点都不过份。在儿童成长阶段，男娃也好，女妞也罢，家家户户都鼓励子女健身强体，跟足球结缘，与运动接轨，并选在春季或者秋季，就地参加城乡体育协会举办的各级户外足球比赛。 我家小学三年级的童少也不例外。三月底，孩子刚刚完成巨人山联合足球俱乐部(Montgoery United Soccer Club)的注册登记，万事俱备，只等秋高气爽，立刻与临时组合的9─10岁年龄组队员一起奔赴球场，迎接第五个年头足球挑战。
孩子参加的这种普及性运动赛事一般费用不高，主要因为各队教练均来自队员的父母，他们虽不比专业人士球技高超，但绿茵场上望子成龙望女成凤的迫切愿望绝对可以弥补任何技术上的欠缺。
巨人山联合足球俱乐部一个赛季的注册费总共收取$125美元，其中80%用来支付队服器械、教练补贴、裁判员工资、10场同龄组队与队之间的比赛、4次职业教练现场指导以及每周1～2集体训练；剩下的20%可供足球俱乐部提成，维持行政开销。近两年来，由于通货膨胀物价跳跃上涨，每人上缴的$25赞助费已经远远不能满足组办单位的日常运行，于是，家长们除了继续出资$25现钞押宝购置有奖彩票之外，还要再进一步追加$25块大洋作为活动资金，否则必须无偿贡献与其“等价”的义工服务，诸如清理足球场地、食品义卖、球队摄影日维持秩序等基本劳作。
岁月流逝时光轮回，大人如是参与，小孩如是踢球，我们几乎把买彩票中乐透置之脑后。世人谁都清楚，有奖彩票如同“乐透大奖”，要么子虚乌有，要么绝少存在；它若非千载难逢，我们便无缘逢之嘉会。正因如此，我们既不敢奢望它喜从天降，甚至也不愿相信它真实存在。 直到几天前俱乐部打来电话，我们才明白什么叫好运当头！ 九年来，孩子有过无数回破天荒的经历：第一次“NBA篮球”、第一次“USTA网球”、第一次“MLB棒球”、第一次“NFL橄榄球”、第一次“NHL冰球”、……如今MLS足球再下一城！对孩子而言，震撼固然来自2012年美国足球职业大联盟赛(MLS)──宾夕法尼亚州费城联队以2：0的绝对优势大胜2008年曾经荣膺MLS杯北美冠军称号的俄亥俄州哥伦布机员队，惊喜更迸发在与18,200多位家乡父老兄弟同欢共乐之时。 当然，五年足球生涯里中一次头彩，来之不易！
