在美国，若家有小学生，定不会对“算术24点”游戏陌生——据说它上世纪60年代起源于中国上海。规则简单：卡片上四个数字由1到10随机组成，用加减乘除算出24即可。如6、5、3、8，可解为3×8÷(6−5)=24。套路繁多，快而准是它的魅力所在。 北宾夕法尼亚“山林”学区每逢春深，州统一考试刚过，各校便组织“24点游戏俱乐部”，四年级以上学生自愿参加，跨年级定期集训，为校际循环赛备战。今年学区的个人第一名来自六年级，决赛当日身穿红衣，口算神速，三轮循环稳居榜首，同组九人无一得分——也暴露了赛制的弊端：强手坐镇，余者便鲜有机会。好在大家“乘兴而行，兴尽而返”，重在参与，贵在交流，没人在意输赢。 在现代电子游戏横行的时代，24点游戏充实了少儿的课外生活——尤其对作业不多的美国小学生而言，它集娱乐与智力于一体，堪称大千游戏世界中的一股清流。那日决赛散场时，几个落败的孩子围在桌边，用粉笔在走廊地板上重新演算起比赛中的题目，争得面红耳赤。阳光从高窗斜落，照在地板上那些歪斜的数字上，转眼又移向别处。输赢早已散尽，唯独那些算式留了下来，像种子一样落在孩子脑海深处，等待下一场雨水的到来。那或许才是24点游戏真正的意义：它能将看似随机的数字组合，纳入某种可被理解的秩序之中，让参与者体验到一种解题的愉悦——它不完全依赖于速度，而更接近于一种找到秩序时的满足感。而那种满足感，是不容易被电子屏幕的亮度所掩盖的。  Math24 Tournament (口算24点比赛 05-18-2013)
