| It is about freedom of speech. Should those who speak Qinglish be allowed to enjoy as much freedom of speech as those native English speakers? That is a fundamental question about freedom of speech.
From language point of view, During its evolution, English has been enriched by all other cultures and languages including Chinese. It is its inclusivity, not its purity, that gives English the vitality to continue to be the most popular language in the world.
There is no doubt that a reasonable language standard should be set up for a forum. I already made some suggestion about it. Before we can reach consent on that, or the secretary issues one, no one has a legitimate reason to blame other people for using English here just because it has some Chinese style therein. |
