| Excite and Incite
Cite is speak, as in recite. Excite is to speak out, speak publicly. Incite is to speak internally, mainly against some other people. When we feel excited, we want to speak out.
Increasingly, speaking out your mind is discouraged. Increasingly, what can be said and what can’t be said are regulated. When we are less able to ex-cite our mind, the world becomes a less exciting place. When there is less ex-cite, there will be more in-cite.
