—— Basic steps to use the APP?

1. Add “Players”

2. Add “Games for today”

—— What should I do before a trick?

Tap the Cards to deck number, player number and other info.  This only needs to be touched again during the game if a new player is added.

—— What to do I after a trick?

1. Enter points on Scores field

2. Tap Update button

3. Tap Next button

—— Players in Red?

The active players (on board) is displayed in red color; the off board players in black

—— What is BeJed?

When the house team is on J or A (J+ or A+),  we call it BeJed if the kitty are dug by the trump J (or trump A).  Once BeJed, all the on board players go back to starting level.  But they can still on board in the next trick if the other team does not earning enough points.

—— What is StepDown button?

This button is basically overwriting the result from Update button.  This is added for the scenario of invalid trick.  So after tapping Next button, the on board players will become off board in the next trick.  The level for every player keeps as is.

—— How to manually increase or decrease the level?

The - and + button could be used for this purpose.  This is for fine tuning the current level in certain scenarios.  For instance, the house player put more cards in the kitty.  We can punish him/her to down one level.

—— How can I see the hands (tricks) played?

Tap << or >> button.

—— What is the limitation?

The only limitation is that the game of the day can have only two cycles. This should never be a limitation for most of the cases.  Should we reach the limitation, we could work it around:.  start a new “Games for today”.  

This bookkeeper allows new players be added during the game.  You no longer need to calculate the number of cards every time when a new player added in.  The system does the calculation for you.

——  Other markers?

It allows you to record the suite set of current trump,  the number of winning bit, and the suites for friend selection.  To avoid the over power of the house, 3 can be selected as a friend.

—— What is AirDrop data?

AirDrop is used to share data between Apple devices via bluetooth.  In this app, the AirDrop data is to share the whole database with other devices.  After sharing, the target device’s database will be overwritten by the sharing device.  

—— How to hide the keyboard?

Tap the main title or and field titles.

—— What does the Delete Data function do?

It will delete all the data from the database.  The benefit is that you could play around the App now.  It has the same effect as reinstall the App.

——  What is the newly added Undo?

Undo is for rolling back the trick (after tapping Next), in case of mis-operation.

——  What are the scoring rules?

There are two parts of score: positive and negative.  The positive is (the final level - starting level) * positive factor.  The negative is (beJed times * negative factor).  The player passed J gets a credit for beJed times.  Here is example, which assumes the game starts at level 5, and uses the default factor settings (1 and 5):
