歌曲“斯卡布羅集市（Scarborough Fair”)”歌詞翻譯-

            -五首“西江月”

 上世紀電影“畢業生”主題曲“斯卡布羅集市（Scarborough Fair)”（西蒙與加芬克尓

（Simon and Garfunkel)版本）一直是全球包括華人聽眾喜愛的經典之作，尤其歌詞中對愛情別開生面的理解和訴求，至今仍引起廣泛的解讀。

這首歌曲主歌詞和基調來自古蘇格蘭民歌，各段第二句唱到的四種花朵﹕香芹、鼠尾草，

迷迭香和百里香(Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme)，分別代表愛情的甜蜜，力量，忠誠

和勇氣。

 在主歌的二、三、四段，每一句的結尾，西蒙和加芬克尓又巧妙地插進一個唱着另外一

套副歌詞的聲音，讓主歌詞的主人公以 戰士的身份講述戰爭的苦難和無奈，從而在主歌愛

情基調上暗示了戰爭對愛情的摧殘，加入當時年青一代的反戰（指當時的越南戰爭）情緒，使全歌的感情表達更加飽滿更有感染力。

 對於華人，這首來自異國民歌的歌曲表達愛情的熱烈，純美和摯誠，令人不由聯想起以

“詩經”為代表的中國古民歌中的愛情詩，現在網絡上廣泛流行的這首歌“詩經”體的中文譯文應當是這種聯想的產物*。

 受“詩經”體譯文的啟發，我萌想試用古詞的形式翻譯西蒙和加芬克尓版的歌詞，寫下以下

五首“西江月”（主歌詞三首，付歌詞二首）。
