我刚来美国的第二天，老朋友就带我逛Yard Sale (AKA Garage Sale)。 Yard Sale (Garage Sale)我觉得翻译成庭院甩卖或车库甩卖似乎不切题，“家庭跳蚤市场”似乎更合适。第一次逛很兴奋，超好的东西卖得超级便宜，记得当时我花了$10买了一部自行车（不过开学第一天骑在校园里胎就被扎破了，这是后话），感觉超级划算的，还买了很漂亮实惠的厨房用具。再后来的20+年里，也逛过3-4次家庭跳蚤市场，大多数买一些装饰品，至今还有一个$2的挂钟在家里，非常unique, 现在市场上还没有这样的挂钟卖。还有一次不经意地花了5美刀买到两条崭新的夏威夷大花的长裙。这二十多年中，我们自己也曾经举办过一次家庭跳蚤市场甩卖，当时刚搬完家，为了清理一大堆再也用不着的东西，花了$17在当地的报纸上做了广告，结果是门庭若市，开门才一会儿，想卖的全部卖空了，还得到了一个非常吉利数字$168的收入，结束后，数$1, $5的钞票那叫一个开心，哈哈。现在住的小区，每年春夏交接的时候， HOA总要组织一次community wide yard sale, 在规定的日期内自行摆摊就OK，也省去了广告费用，这可不，昨天一大早爬起来，把家里多余的物品再次连卖带送地处理了，工具玩具物品如割草机、箱子、电子琴、鞋子、玩具等全部卖出，光顾的人群各种各样，有一点要知道并非是穷人才光顾家庭跳蚤市场的，也不仅仅是远方的来客。昨天就有两位住在附近的邻居买了我家的东西。对邻居，我们没要价，就说了一声“你看着给吧！”哈哈哈，结果他们给我们的钱比我们心中原本的要价还要高。本来那架61键的Yamaha电子琴要价要高些的，因为现在新琴要$299，但是我看到一位母亲带着她的8岁左右的女儿来逛跳蚤市场，小女孩似乎很喜欢琴，我自己就在心里砍了一半价连琴带琴架就卖给了她们，老公帮忙把琴和架子搬上了她们的车。看着她们脸上的喜悦，我也感觉像吃了蜜一样的甜。剩下没卖完的衣服最后都捐给了Goodwill。家里的space一下子多出很多，感觉超级棒。边卖东西边在车库里放着我最近的原创《Yard Sale》，节奏明快，气氛热烈，还有两个人调侃地问我当时播放音乐的小音箱怎么卖，哈哈哈，显然音响效果还不错啊。大家听听，喜欢吗？如果喜欢，下次你家举办Yard Sale, 可以循坏播放哦。这里是Spotify的链接和苹果音乐的链接。
