| | 金鴻善賣掉公司，房子，車子及所有值錢的東西，帶着老婆和兩個孩子，經歐洲土爾其轉厄瓜多爾，從哥倫比亞走線，途徑巴拿馬，宏都拉斯墨西哥進入德州，後來被送到紐約。在法拉盛的勞工家庭協會會長萬延海的幫助下聯繫上他大哥金鴻尉。因為事先沒有告知，宏尉也很為難，幫他一家在紐瓦克租了個間房，是跟四戶無證客合租的，19個人共用一個衛生間，十分擁擠。同屋的委內瑞拉人麥克在街上瞎逛時，碰上一群人酒後打群架，他也參與其中，打得不亦樂乎，被警察抓住。兩月前麥克因為性騷擾和盜竊被逮過兩次，這是第三次。警察把麥克送到移民和海關執法局（ICE）。第二天ICE 過來把一屋子的人都帶走。金鴻善一家被直接帶到紐瓦克自由國際機場，送上聯合航空到上海的飛機。機上全是被遣返的中國人。登機前每人得發了三包康師傅方便麵和兩個蘋果幾點小吃。鴻善吃不下那方便麵，湯都吞不進。當空姐要他系好安全帶，準備起飛時，他完全崩潰了。想到自己身上一分錢都沒有，帶着老婆孩子，千辛萬苦，這麼冷的天，回到上海哪裡可以落腳啊！他頓時大哭起來，他的老婆孩子也狂哭。整個機艙的人都嚎啕大哭。飛機此時進入跑道，迅速起飛。乘客都後仰，不能出聲。當飛機平穩後，有人打開窗簾，看到紐約哈德遜河在皚皚的白雪中蜿蜒向南，與他們追求的夢想背道而馳，人們徹底瘋了。他們哭嚎着，湧向緊急出口，要打開那出口艙門。這把空姐嚇壞了。乘警也一點辦法都沒有。機長立即喊話：“請不要打開緊急出口門，打開了，大家都得死。我把你們安全送回紐約。”飛機立即調頭，在拉瓜迪亞機場降落。乘客全部被送到法拉盛。 金鴻善聯繫了他的室友和走線的線友。黑人朋友找到了紐約的民權領袖，大家都意識到這不僅是華人的事情。於是聯繫民主黨紐約聯邦眾議員孟昭文，科爾特斯（Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez）等要員，還有LGBTQ等組織。眾領袖一致決定明天就舉行抗議遊行。從曼哈頓的125街，法拉盛面街或任何可以集聚20 人的地方出發，向着市政府，時代廣場，布魯克林大橋前進！起義的口號是： 我是人，我們是人民! I am a Human Being. We are The People!
