中國全面脫貧的簡報 （題目“毛主席思想永放光芒，習主席領導人民脫貧奔小康”）， 送到了毛主席那裡 ---- 雖然他老人家躺在水晶宮裡，還是堅持每天看簡報 ---- 毛主席摘下老花鏡，若有所思， 道 : "我在位時，不是已經超英趕美奔向共產主義了嗎? 怎麼四十年多後，我的後輩還在搞‘脫貧奔小康’呢？”

毛主席的手顫抖了一下。

他並沒有在"批閱"處畫圈 ---- 自從躺進水晶後, 對於文件，他就只看不批了...

Eradicating Poverty

A briefing report on China’s complete eradication of poverty—titled “Mao Zedong Thought Shines Forever; Under President Xi’s Leadership, the People Lift Themselves Out of Poverty and Advance Toward a Moderately Prosperous Society”—was delivered to Chairman Mao.

Although he lay in the Crystal Palace, he still insisted on reading briefings every day.

Chairman Mao took off his reading glasses and, after a moment’s thought, said:

“When I was in power, were we not already surpassing Britain and catching up with America, marching toward communism? How is it that, more than forty years later, my successors are still working on ‘lifting people out of poverty and advancing toward moderate prosperity’?”

His hand trembled slightly.

He did not draw a circle in the “approved” column. Ever since he entered the Crystal Palace, he has only read documents—he no longer endorses them.
