1 My heart is stirred by a noble theme
as I recite my verses for the king;
my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.
2 You are the most excellent of men
and your lips have been anointed with grace,
since God has blessed you forever.
3 Gird your sword on your side, you mighty one;
clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.
4 In your majesty ride forth victoriously
in the cause of truth, humility and justice;
let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.
5 Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies;
let the nations fall beneath your feet.
6 Your throne, O God,c]">[c] will last for ever and ever;
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions
by anointing you with the oil of joy.
8 All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia;
from palaces adorned with ivory
the music of the strings makes you glad.
9 Daughters of kings are among your honored women;
at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir.
10 Listen, daughter, and pay careful attention:
Forget your people and your father’s house.
11 Let the king be enthralled by your beauty;
honor him, for he is your lord.
12 The city of Tyre will come with a gift,d]">[d]
people of wealth will seek your favor.
13 All glorious is the princess within her chamber;
her gown is interwoven with gold.
14 In embroidered garments she is led to the king;
her virgin companions follow her—
those brought to be with her.
15 Led in with joy and gladness,
they enter the palace of the king.
16 Your sons will take the place of your fathers;
you will make them princes throughout the land.
17 I will perpetuate your memory through all generations;
therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever.
詩四五2、6、7：“你比世人更美，你的嘴唇滿溢恩典；所以神賜福給你，直到永遠。 神阿，你的寶座是永永遠遠的；你國的權杖是正直的權杖。 你愛公義，恨惡邪惡；所以神，就是你的神，用歡樂的油膏你， 勝過膏你的同夥。”
詩篇四十五篇二節中說，『你的嘴唇滿溢恩典。』 這指明恩典不斷的出自他的口。關於這點， 路加四章二十二節告訴我們，人希奇主耶穌口中所出的恩言。
在詩篇四十五篇二節下半，詩人繼續讚美王，說，『 所以神賜福給你，直到永遠。』因為那人耶穌是佳美、甜美的， 且滿有恩典，神就受感，賜福給他，直到永遠。因此， 羅馬九章五節說到基督是『永遠受頌讚的神』。
在詩篇四十五篇三至五節，詩人因王的得勝而讚美王。 亞當和他所有的子孫，包括我們，都失敗了；惟有基督是得勝者。 福音書啟示他勝過一切，並得著了勝利。
詩篇四十五篇三節說，『大能者阿，願你腰間佩刀， 大有尊榮和威嚴。』在撒但和所有墮落天使的眼中， 基督是腰間佩刀的大能者，大有尊榮和威嚴的一位。 他的尊榮和他的威嚴，都是他得勝的標記。
四節上半繼續說，『為了真理、溫柔、公義， 願你在威嚴中坐車前往，無不得勝。』威嚴是榮耀的彰顯。 基督在地上時，只有一次顯示他的威嚴， 就是在山上變化形像的時候。但他復活、 升天以後，在他的尊榮和威嚴里，將自己顯給保羅（徒二六13～ 15）和約翰（啟一9～20）看。
詩篇四十五篇四節下半說，『願你的右手施行可畏的事。』 基督行了許多可畏的事，包括他的釘十字架、復活和升天。 基督所行最可畏的事，是他的釘十字架。 基督的釘十字架是一件大事，威嚇了撒但、鬼、以及墮落的天使， 就是空中黑暗的權勢。…我們珍賞十字架，撒但卻從十字架逃跑。… 五節〔繼續〕說，王的箭銳利；眾民仆倒在他以下。 他的箭射中他仇敵的心。
在六至七節，詩人因王的國而讚美王。我們已經指出， 國是得勝的結果。因此，在人能作王以前，他必須先作得勝者。 照著古代的風俗，勝過仇敵的人，就成了王。
基督是神，他的寶座是永永遠遠的。（6上，來一8上）
他『國的權杖是正直的權杖』。（詩四五6下）權杖表徵權柄。 今天許多高官的權柄不是正直的，但基督的權柄完全是正直的。
基督是王，愛公義，恨惡邪惡。（7上，來一9上）我們越公義， 就越有權柄。然而，我們越涉及邪惡，就越失去權柄。
詩篇四十五篇七節下半繼續說，『所以神，就是你的神， 用歡樂的油膏你，勝過膏你的同夥。』歡樂的油表徵神的靈， 同夥表徵基督的信徒。父神用聖靈膏了基督，勝過膏他的同夥， 就是所有的信徒。這指明基督的權柄和國度完全是屬靈的事。 他受了膏，目的是為著國度。基督的權柄、寶座、權杖、 和其餘與國有關的一切，都在那靈的膏抹之下，所以都是屬靈的。
