“这儿有一个八分音符，”娃儿左手按下琴键示范，右手指向琴谱，奶声奶气地强调，“只要弹成半拍就可以了。”坐在琴凳另一旁的学生干净利落地演习了一个漂亮的八分音符。“对，就是这样！”娃儿欣赏地夸奖道，满意地点了点头。“多谢老师指教！”学生礼貌地回答，脸上洋溢着欣慰的笑容——这位学生不是别人，正是年纪一把、琴史远长于娃儿岁数的外婆。 其实，娃儿给外婆当"老师"由来已久，可以追溯到四五年前初进幼儿园时。满口奇谈怪论的娃儿，为历经封建制度磨难与社会主义洗礼的外婆打开了一扇透视美国社会的视窗，成了她生活中的“活”字典、“铁”翻译。久而久之，“老师”的称号便随着娃儿的"公益"活动徐缓地进入日常。外婆当年是花木兰、梁红玉、樊梨花、穆桂英的综合体；娃儿如今为奥特曼“终极者”神魂颠倒、为生化战士如痴如狂、为《星球大战》魂不守舍。这么两位横竖加起来恰好80岁的隔代师生，在地域、意识、观念上截然不同，却因彼此的善意与姿态——一个博采众长做朋友，一个求同存异做榜样——磨合出了忘年的默契。 “老师，”外婆谦虚地称着娃儿，“婆婆从前弹过巴赫、贝多芬的G大调《小步舞曲》，甚至莫扎特的D大调《小步舞曲》，可偏偏没见过这首巴斯申“敬重”编辑的G大调舞曲。"一席话激发了娃儿好好表现的决心——弄斧必须到班门！他反复交待力度变化、适中的速度、循环跳跃的音符转换：“《三重奏》第一段有强拍符号，得用力表现；第二段弱拍要轻轻地弹。先弹《小步舞曲》，再弹《三重奏》，末了再来一遍《小步舞曲》！”功夫不负有心人，外婆善抓纲要，上手飞快。不一会儿，师生四手联弹，奏出一曲旋律舒畅、伴奏优美、节拍典雅的天籁之音。而我坐在不远处，听那琴声穿过黄昏——一个七岁的孩子和一个70多岁的老人，在黑白琴键上找到了彼此都能听懂的语言。那些音符落下来，像种子落在两代人的土壤里，各自开出了不一样的花。外婆弹的是记忆，娃儿弹的是未来；而四只手叠在一起时，过去和未来便在那个傍晚短暂地汇合了——在G大调的旋律里，谁也不需要翻译。 Today in History(历史上的今天):
