川普（坐得很直，手攤開）： So, Nicolás, welcome to America. Not the vacation kind, but still—America.
馬杜羅（整理外套，神情鎮定）： 川普先生，我是被“邀請”來的。
川普（點頭）： Exactly. We call it aggressive hospitality. You call it… destiny.
馬杜羅： 你們抓我，是為了民主？
川普（擺手）： No no no. Democracy is just the wrapping paper. We’re here for leverage. （他頓了一下，壓低聲音。） Also, oil. Always oil.
馬杜羅（苦笑）： 你們美國人很現實。
川普： Wrong. We are very optimistic about other people’s resources.
（短暫沉默。）
馬杜羅： 為了吃得好些，搞點航運帶貨。不是有意冒犯尊駕的。
川普： Don't be silly. You're in good hands.
馬杜羅（嘆氣）： 那你打算怎麼處置我？
川普（想了想）： Depends. If you’re cooperative, you'll become a case study. If not— you'll become a warning label.
馬杜羅： 你們不是說，不干涉別國內政嗎？
川普（一本正經）： We don’t interfere. We participate. Big difference.
（馬杜羅笑了，笑得很疲憊。）
馬杜羅： 那你呢？ 你也被你們的制度“活擒”過。
川普（一愣，隨即哈哈大笑）： Touché! Yes, yes, very true. I was captured by courts, media, polls… But look at me— still standing, still talking. That’s America.
馬杜羅： 聽起來，你很羨慕我這種“長期執政”。
川普： 羨慕？ No. I prefer intermittent power. More dramatic. Better ratings.
（川普站起來，繞着桌子走了一圈。）
川普： 你知道你輸在哪兒嗎？
馬杜羅： 請指教。
川普： You controlled too much reality. People like illusions, Nicolás. Give them slogans, not shortages.
馬杜羅（苦笑）： 你這是在教我治國？
川普： No. I’m teaching you branding.
（兩人對視。）
馬杜羅： 那歷史會怎麼寫我？
川普（想了想）： Depends. If it’s us— you were a tyrant. If it’s your people— you were complicated. If it’s Wikipedia— it’s going to change every six months.
馬杜羅： 那你呢？
川普（攤手）： Same. But louder.
（門外有人敲門。）
助理： Mr. President，媒體在等。
川普（回頭）： Tell them this was a constructive conversation. （轉回馬杜羅。） You see? Nobody asks what was constructed.
馬杜羅（站起身）： 所以，這就是強權的真相？
川普（聳肩）： No. This is negotiation. Truth is optional.
