The unfair discrimination of slavery,
Brought the greatest civil war.
And the soldiers showed great bravery,
For it was not a bore.
Blacks couldn’t drink from fountains,
Whites had drunk from too.
This made a great big mountain,
That was divided into two.
Then came the newest president,
Abraham Lincoln was his name.
He tried to make blacks a resident,
From his glory and his fame.
The creator of the Underground Railroad,
Harriet Tubman was this heroine.
They spoke in their made up code,
Which was extraordinarily fine.
When African Americans were finally free, Hats were in the air.
This would be a satisfaction for me,
Because people really care.
