「传12: 1-14」“你趁着年幼,衰败的日子尚未来到,就是你所说,我毫无喜乐的那些年日未曾临近之先,当记念造你的主……。”在传道书第十二章也是最后一章中,所罗门肺腑感言论及如何解决人生的“虚空”。他首先劝告年青人,不要浪费自己的青春,当趁着年幼,在“衰败的日子”,“毫无喜乐的那些年日”没有来到时,“当记念造你的主!”因为造我们的主才是人生的意义和价值。接着所罗门就描绘出当“衰败的日子”来到时,老年人的光景,他说:“看守房屋的发颤,有力的屈身,推磨的稀少就止息;从窗户往外看的都昏暗…。”这里所罗门用许多的比喻描写人老了以后身心灵的光景会变为黑暗,身体会发颤、弯曲,牙齿稀少,眼睛昏花,耳朵重听,害怕出门,头发如霜,气力消失,失去欲望,脊椎松弛,脑力退化,心脏衰退,肺功能失效。最后的归宿是:“尘土仍归于地,灵仍归于赐灵的神。”也就是说,人死后,身体归回尘土,灵归回神那里接受审判,各自归回原出之地。若这就是人生,它的意义是什么呢?所以所罗门再次说:“虚空的虚空,凡事都是虚空。”然后他又说:“再者,传道者专心寻求可喜悦的言语,是凭正直写的诚实话…。”所罗门说他所传智慧的言语,是经他默想、考察后才传讲出来的,而这样的智慧之言,对听者虽如“刺棍”,但却是“钉稳的钉子”,是有其功效的。因为这些智慧的话都是“一个牧者所赐的”,就是都是出于神。所罗门又劝人凡事适可而止:“著书多,没有穷尽;读书多,身体疲倦。”最后所罗门作出总结:“这些事都已听见了,总意就是敬畏神,谨守他的诫命,这是人所当尽的本分;因为人所作的事,连一切隐藏的事,无论是善是恶,神都必审问。”所罗门在传道书中讲了那么多的“虚空”,在此落笔时他向世人表明了他作本书的目的,就是要告诉世人:一个没有神或是离开神的人生,是非常虚空的人生,惟有敬畏神、谨守祂的诫命,人才不虚度此生,且能坦然去见神。为此,愿我们都要好好地研读传道书,让我们得着真正的智慧,过一个无悔的人生。并要从传道书的总结中得着教训,要在心中谨记:“敬畏神,遵守祂的诫命”,因为这才是我们人生的目的与意义!阿们!
