A Message from the President of WAS, Faysal El Kak

親愛的朋友們、同事們、各位會員以及世界性健康學會（WAS）大家庭：

我懷着無比自豪和堅定的決心，開啟世界性健康學會主席的任期。我期待與各位同仁攜手合作，無論來自哪個地區、哪個學科，共同推進我們共同的使命：人人享有性健康和權利。 

我寫這封信的地點是黎巴嫩貝魯特，我在貝魯特美國大學擔任臨床醫生、教師和性與生殖健康研究員。多年來，我的工作一直圍繞婦女和青年的需求，特別是那些在地區和全球層面遭受暴力、身患癌症或流離失所的難民。 

正是在這種深入傾聽、學習和協作的氛圍中，我才得以加入WAS。 

性健康並非奢侈品，而是我們的權利。它對尊嚴、福祉和全球健康公平至關重要，也是構建公正包容世界的基礎。推進這些權利需要大膽的科學探索、勇敢的倡導和堅定不移的合作。 

任何單一的聲音都無法獨自完成這項工作。但攜手並進——跨越學科、文化、社群和國界——我們正在建設一個性被接納為生命和健康重要組成部分的世界，一個沒有羞恥、暴力、歧視和排斥的世界。 

讓WAS繼續成為一個連接、激勵和行動的空間。我邀請你們每個人在你們的診所、你們的課堂、你們的社區和你們的國家分享、學習和引領。 

團結起來，我們就會更加強大。 

團結起來，我們的聲音會更加被傾聽，我們的聲音也會更加響亮——團結起來。

Dear friends, colleagues, members, and WAS family, 

It is with deep pride and purpose that I begin my term as President of the World Association for Sexual Health. I look forward to working with each of you, from every region and every discipline, as we advance our shared mission: sexual health and rights for ALL. 

I write to you from Beirut, Lebanon, where I serve as a clinician, educator, and researcher for sexual and reproductive health at the American University of Beirut. For many years, my work has centred on the needs of women and youth, especially those who are survivors of violence, living with cancer, or displaced as refugees, at both regional and global levels. 

It is from this place of deep listening, learning, and collaboration that I step into this role with WAS.

Sexual health is not a luxury; it is our right. It is essential to dignity, wellbeing, and global health equity. It is foundational to a just, inclusive world. Advancing these rights requires bold science, courageous advocacy, and unwavering collaboration. 

No single voice can do this work alone. But together - across disciplines, cultures, communities, and borders - we are building a world where sexuality is embraced as a vital part of life and health, free from shame, violence, discrimination, and exclusion. 

Let WAS continue to be a space for connection, inspiration, and action. I invite each of you to share, learn, and lead in your clinics, your classrooms, your communities, and your countries. 

We are stronger together.

We are more united, more heard, and more impactful - together.
