莫言 vs. 虔谦: seems ridulous contrast.  Right? But for some people, it's reasonable.  莫言 may be too far away.虔谦 might be very close to our daily lives.  haha.  Every body has a life that has a circle.  The cirle can be large; it can be small.

My point is that every writer has his/her audience.  The audience can be in in Sweden, or it can be in North America. 

If nobel prize is from Sweden, then think about it by putting ourselves in the shoes of that small audience.  Of course, you can say that those people are more important than people in North America.  Sure.  Be it.

Get a prize is a good thing for some people, but certainly not for all people who are still alive on this planet.

So, happy with all prizes.  and some day, we might have a prize for New Not So Nobel prize for  虔谦, or Da Wan Cha Zhuan Ye Hu or some other writers you prefer - you need to get enough gold to the prize too to attract enough attention.

Bottom line: a certain prize is for a certain peoeple.  Hold your own values system whatever it happens.
