From Book <<The Imitation of Christ>>(Book 2, Chapter 9)
"I have never met a man so religious and devout that he has not experienced at some time a withdrawal of grace and felt a lessening of fervor. No saint was so sublimely rapt and enlightened as not to be tempted before and after. He, indeed, is not worthy of the sublime contemplation of God who has not been tried by some tribulation for the sake of God. For temptation is usually the sign preceding the consolation that is to follow, and heavenly consolation is promised to all those proved by temptation.

"To him that overcometh," says Christ, "I will give to eat of the Tree of Life."
(ESV Revelation [2:7] To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.)

Divine consolation, then, is given in order to make a man braver in enduring adversity, and temptation follows in order that he may not pride himself on the good he has done."

  I have constantly feeling proud to have the wisdom from God and handle complicated situation smoothly. And of course I remembered to "Thank God!" and "boast in the Lord". Now here is the answer, to be honest I don't know how much of my pride is "boast in the Lord" or truly proud of my own capability. I only know when I am not really humble to praise God, something else came up after the victory and caused me more depressed, then I simply exploded and have to go back to the Lord, praying, repenting, giving thanks, and then I had to humble myself and start over again. Now reading this paragraph, I realized it is a normal process of God preventing us from having too much self-pride. We have to nail our old sinful self over and over on the cross - to die with Jesus and to rise with Jesus again and again.

 On the other hand, when I was tempted and was tested through the temptations, God tells me:
Romans [5:3-5]
3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,
4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,
5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

When I was frusted that I fell to the trap of tempation, God tells me he will help me without letting go:
Psalm [65:3-4]
3 When iniquities prevail against me,
    you atone for our transgressions.
4 Blessed is the one you choose and bring near,
    to dwell in your courts!

And I could recover from the sin as long as I rely on him:
Romans [6:22-23] 
Rom 6:22  "But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life." 
Rom 6:23  "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." 

It touches me deeply now for the part that Jesus was tested with Satan for 40 days in the desert - just talk about the temptations he has been facing! If I have not been through so many drastic changes lately, feeling powerless and have to constantly go back to look up to the Lord to strengthen me, it would have just stayed as a dreamy story to me.
