Pelosi is one of the worst offenders. She's made something like $200 million trading stocks since she took office. And many of those trades have been extremely suspect. She bought Microsoft two weeks before the Army announced a $22 billion contract with the company. She bought Tesla right before Biden signed an executive order mandating the entire government fleet go electric. Do you remember the CHIPS Act two years ago? It awarded $52 BILLION to US semiconductor companies to boost domestic production. The biggest recipient of those funds was Nvidia, and the stock is up almost 1,000% since then. Just so happens, Pelosi bought $5 million worth of call options on Nvidia stock right before that bill was announced, which is like a leveraged bet on the stock. She made millions on that trade. She has done this over and over and over again. She has outperformed Warren Buffett. Last year she did better than every hedge fund on Wall Street! There are internet groups dedicated to just following her stock trades. These are the stock market returns of Congressmen last year. Stephen, Pelosi's not even at the top of the list! She made 65% for the year, which is almost unheard of, but Blumenthal did even better. So did John Rutherford, Seth Moulton, and Senator Wyden. Some of these guys returned more than 100% last year. Brian Higgins TRIPLED his account. This is how politicians get rich. And this is how I've been able to make a career out of just follow their trades. And they're not going to stop. This is Democrats, this is Republicans. These are new Congressmen like Higgins and dinosaurs like Pelosi. They all do it. And they're definitely not going to ban themselves from making these trades. * My comment: As the former president Dwight Eisenhower pointed out in his 1961 farewell address that there is a Military-Industrial-Congressional Complex or MICC, which is the overlord of the world. How farsighted he was! His legal forerunner - Harry S. Truman - was engaged in Korean War and other hegemonic endeavors exactly as his U.S. capitalist lord-dictatorship dictated. The only way out of the MICC swamp is to defeat it and clean it well. As both the two parties - the Democratic and the Republican - are corrupted to death, anyone who chooses one against the other will be fooled. The reasonably right way out of the "democratic" failure and the quagmire of evil, crisis and decline is via the MAGA party led by Donald J. Trump.
