Happiness Is A Choice What is happiness? Is there a definition for happiness? I bet You could get millions of answers for these two questions. There would be also millions of reasons for some one to be happy. Just like everything else, happiness has flip and flop sides. Something to happy about for someone could be something unhappy to have for others. Even for the very same unhappy thing, one could end up with a happy feeling if he(or she) is willing to just give it a second thought, look it differently, or check the positive side. At the end, one’ll find one thing in common about happiness that Happiness is really a matter of choice. When I was in the US, we football fans were so happy about our school football team when they have a winning season(over 50% wins). We became happier and happier as the team won more and more games until 1998. The team had a school record of 11wins that season, and was just one win away from a chance to play in the National Championship game. That one win away was a loss of course which left so many unhappy fans behind. I still remember the word from a diehard fan who’s still happy, “come on guys, we’d be happy if we could win just one game 10 years ago. Why should we be unhappy when we have a top ten team with a 11-1 record. I choose to be happy for me and for the team even they didn’t get to play in the National Championship game”. ‘Choose to be happy’ now become my motto. It is after all a choice to be happy or not. |
