故事是這樣的。德國當時著名拳王 Henry Maske 要舉辦告別賽, 比賽由電視實況播出。唱片公司為了推廣這首歌, 請來Andrea Bocelli 和 Sarah Brightman在比賽前演唱, 並在歌詞中加了一句英文。這場比賽拳王打輸了。正當拳王疲憊的走向出口時, Time to say goodbye 的歌聲再次響起。略帶憂傷的旋律伴隨著拳王老去的背影，使在場的觀眾無不動容。
