Huang Zhecao: Mao Zedong Thought is the rallying cry for the development of science and technology in China Hello, friends. Today is Christmas in the West and New Year's Day is coming in a few days. I would like to wish you all a happy new year and good health. I am very happy that we are gathered again to commemorate the 131st anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth online via Zoom. This is the 48th time, and it has never been interrupted. The way we commemorate has changed with the changes of the times. It was first held in the Chinatown Community Activity Center in New York, and later changed to a university auditorium classroom, but this was limited to people living near New York. Recently, we held it online, and friends from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the mainland in the United States can also participate. The scope has been expanded and it has also facilitated many people to participate. Today is this online method. Welcome everyone to attend. Thank you for attending. I visited the mainland for the first time in 1972. I saw that the mainland was very backward in all aspects. At that time, I thought to myself that the mainland was so backward, when would it be able to catch up with the United States? Unexpectedly, after sixty or seventy years of hard work and construction, today's China has caught up with, approached, or surpassed the United States in many fields, and the same is true for the development of science and technology. China's rapid development in science and technology is achieved through the wisdom and hard work of the Chinese people, but the most important thing is to have a correct guiding ideology, which is Mao Zedong Thought. The basis of Mao Zedong Thought is materialism, and everything starts from reality, which is also the basic premise of materialistic epistemology. His thought on the development of Chinese science is of course also developed based on materialistic epistemology. Mao Zedong's earliest speech on the development of science was a speech at a seminar in Yan'an on February 5, 1940. He said: "Natural science is a kind of weapon for people to fight for freedom." At the meeting on intellectual issues in January 1956, he clearly stated: "Science is also a productive force." Chairman Mao's scientific adviser Zhou Peiyuan said that Chairman Mao's great banner is the banner of science. Chairman Mao said that apart from science, do not believe in anything, do not be superstitious, do not believe in incorrect things, and criticize them. This is the scientific attitude. Chairman Mao attached importance to science in an all-round way. He regarded scientific and technological work as the superstructure, which not only improved productivity and developed the economy, but also regarded the development of science and technology as important as establishing a regime and an army. On June 21, 1958, at the enlarged meeting of the Central Military Commission, he said: "I still hope to build a navy and a stronger air force, and the atomic bomb. Without it, people will say you do not count. Well, let's do some, some atomic bombs, hydrogen bombs, and intercontinental missiles." Chairman Mao's words are the driving force for the development of science and technology in China and the rallying cry for promoting the development of science and technology in China. Below I list 10 great achievements in Chinese science and technology, all of which are closely related to Chairman Mao’s call: 1) China’s successful atomic bomb explosion in 1964 2) Successful hydrogen bomb explosion in 1967 3) Successful nuclear submarine sea trial in 1971 4) Successful launch of Dongfeng 5 intercontinental missile in 1980 5) Successful sea trial of the first domestically-made aircraft carrier Shandong in 2019 (China’s first aircraft carrier Liaoning was built by modifying a semi-finished product purchased from Ukraine) 6) The Yutu lunar rover successfully landed on the back of the moon in 2019 7) The Beidou navigation system was successfully put into use in 2020 8) The construction of China’s space station was completed and put into use in 2022 9) In 2024, China’s high-speed rail exceeded 40,000 kilometers, ranking first in the world, and the speed exceeded 350 kilometers per hour, ranking first in the world 10) BYD electric vehicles sold 2.75 million in the first three quarters of 2024, ranking first in the world The Chinese people are very clear about Chairman Mao's contributions and sincerely thank him for leading China from poverty to prosperity, from being bullied by the powers to independence, from millet and rifles to intercontinental missile aircraft carriers, etc. Therefore, there was a period when the mainland of China was cold to Mao, but the Chinese people's love and respect for Chairman Mao not only remained unshakable, but also strengthened Chairman Mao's lofty status in the hearts of the Chinese people. ========================== 2. Dingyi: Several books In the 1970s, there were three big English books published by Little & Brown, which caused a sensation. Those present may remember them, but young friends may not be familiar with them. One is Han Suyin's The Morning Deluge - Mao-Tsetung & The Chinese Revolution 1893-1954. (Published in 1972). The Chinese translation of this book is "Red Tide", which covers the part before 1954 and has less domestic controversy. Shaanxi People's Publishing House translated it into Chinese and published it in 1993 under the name Red Tide. The second book was also written by Han Suyin: Wind in The Tower - Mao -Tsetung & The Chinese Revolution 1949-1975 (published in 1976). There seems to be no Chinese translation of this book in China. I do not know if there will be a Chinese translation in the future. The third book is Comrade Chiang Ch'ing by Roxane Witke (published in 1977). There is no Chinese translation of this book, but there are many hearsays about it. The content is a detailed account of the author's interview with Jiang Qing in China in 1972. Although there is no translation, there are many books about this book. Ye Yonglie's Biography of Jiang Qing has this paragraph: "In fact, Mao Zedong did sharply criticize Jiang Qing's conversation with Witke. When Mao Zedong learned that Comrade Jiang Qing was published in the West, he was quite angry." Mao certainly did not see the published book. Because he had passed away. But after Witke returned to the United States in 1972, she reported her trip at Harvard and other forums with Chinese experts, and there was a written record. The Chinese government had obtained this record, and Mao would have known about it. One of the translators in the interview was Hsu Erh Wei. Friends who have worked in the United Nations may remember her. Han Suyin was in New York for a period in the 1970s, and some friends want to meet her. She has a set of autobiographies, five volumes written until 1979, all in English, published in the United States, and worth reading. All have Chinese translations. These five volumes are The Crippled Tree (published in 1965, Chinese translation: "The Crippled Tree") 1885-1928. Mainly Writing about the deeds of her parents and the previous generation. Her mother was Belgian and eloped with her father and married. A Mortal Flower (published in 1966, Chinese translation: "Fanhua") 1928-1938. Her childhood, school. She went to Yenching University. Participated in the excavation of Zhoukoudian. Birdless Summer (published in 1968, translated into Chinese as Silent Summer) 1938-1948. Anti-Japanese War years. Married, husband died in battle. My House Has Two Doors (published in 1980) 1949-1979, went to England to study medicine, practice medicine, write, lived in Southeast Asia, remarried, visited China. This book was divided into two parts: My House Has Two Doors (translated into Chinese as My House Double Doors) 1949-1965. Phoenix Harvest (translated into Chinese as Phoenix Harvest) 1965-1979. The first three books are bestsellers in the United States, and are available in most libraries. The latter book shows that she has clearly identified with the new China. Although the major libraries in the United States have this book, the general libraries do not have it. This book is not a bestseller in the United States. After 1980, there is little news about her exchanges with China. ========================== 3. Han Dongping: The depression of rural China proves the wisdom of the agricultural collectivization path formulated by Chairman Mao Rural China under the crisis of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers In the summer of 2024, I took the opportunity of returning to my hometown to visit six villages in Jimo, Shandong and Pingdu, a neighboring county, and witnessed the increasing depression of rural China. In these six villages, only the elderly are working, and there is no trace of young people. The people working in the fields are all elderly people in their sixties, and many houses in the village are uninhabited. The old people in the village said that farming is not profitable, and young people cannot make a living in the village, so they can only work in the city. The younger generation no longer has the ability and interest to survive in the countryside. The old people cannot see hope. They said that in another ten years, when their generation can no longer work, their village will be completely abandoned, which is sad. Deng Xiaoping betrayed Chairman Mao's wishes and created the fake model of Xiaogang Village in Anhui, forcing farmers to divide the land and work on their own. Grassroots cadres and the masses resisted and were ruthlessly suppressed and liquidated. The rural collective economy established by the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people under the leadership of Chairman Mao, and the rural cooperative medical system, free education system, and public pension security system established based on the collective economy, which were praised by the United Nations, were destroyed. The compulsory education from primary school to high school, which was originally popular in rural areas, no longer exists. Due to the dropout of rural children, especially girls, China has another three generations of illiterates. The increasing cost of education has become a huge mountain on the farmers. The destruction of the rural cooperative medical system has made it difficult for farmers to see a doctor. A serious illness can make farmers fall into a situation of family breakdown and death. Many farmers who get sick choose to give up treatment in order not to impose an economic burden on their families and children. Rural medical care has become a huge mountain on farmers. When I was doing research in rural areas these years, many farmer friends told me that if they were sick, they would give up treatment and would not let their children bear hundreds of thousands of debts for treatment, which would make them unable to turn over a new leaf forever. In the past forty years, China's local education bureaus have continuously closed rural primary and secondary schools. Farmers' children must go to the township and county governments to go to school. Many so-called experts and professors have been constantly advocating to learn from the United States, promote urbanization, and eliminate this class of farmers. This is a big move by local governments and capital to force farmers to buy houses in the city. Farmers originally had their own farmyards in the countryside, but to let their children go to school, they had to buy houses in the city. In recent years, to make the gross national product look more glamorous, the Chinese government, from the central to the local governments, has been promoting the development of real estate. House prices have risen every year, and they are often thousands or tens of thousands per square meter. Now, for young people in rural areas to get married, it has become a prerequisite to have a house and a car in the city. Farmers work hard, but they cannot earn 1,000 yuan per mu of land in a year. However, to send their children to school and get married, they must borrow money from banks to buy houses, which has become another mountain weighing on farmers' heads. Farmers could barely make a living by farming, but now the three mountains of medical care, education and housing have made farmers breathless. The cost of education, medical care and the increase in housing prices have made rural young men unable to get married and have children. Deng Xiaoping violently implemented the one-child policy for decades, resulting in a serious imbalance in the gender ratio of the rural population. I conducted research in rural Shandong and found that the gender ratio of many rural primary and secondary schools has reached an alarming level. In a junior high school class, boys account for more than 60%, while girls account for only a little more than 30%. Under normal circumstances, this means that half of rural male youth will not be able to find a partner of the opposite sex. This situation, coupled with the trend of young people migrating to coastal areas, has further exacerbated the difficulty of young men in poor areas finding a partner. Girls from underdeveloped areas can marry boys from developed areas without hesitation, but girls from developed areas refuse to marry poor migrant workers from underdeveloped areas because of their superior economic conditions and higher education, becoming leftover women. In the villages around the county town of Jimo District, my hometown, there are dozens of leftover women in each village. In the rural areas of underdeveloped inland areas, many young men can only give up marriage and live a single life because they cannot afford the high bride price, luxury cars and huge expenses for buying houses in the city required by the women. This should be the main reason for the decline in China's fertility rate year by year. In the Mao Zedong era, China's education policy was to serve the proletarian politics, combine with production labor, and cultivate the all-round development of morality, intelligence, and physical fitness. Students not only learn knowledge from books, but also learn military, labor, and agriculture, and participate in community labor and do good deeds. Rural children, starting from primary school, are organized by the school to participate in production labor in the production team on weekends, wheat holidays, and autumn holidays. Generally, rural high school students have learned various farm work and how to use various agricultural machinery by the time they graduate. Most students also learn some other industrial technologies and have strong hands-on skills. They are all good production experts. After graduating from high school and returning to the countryside, they are the main force of production. When Deng Xiaoping came to power, he completely denied Mao Zedong's education policy of all-round development and abandoned the practice of combining education with production. He turned education into a thorough exam-oriented education, everything for the purpose of further study and everything for high scores. High scores can get you into the top class, key primary schools, key junior high schools, and key high schools, and all of this is for the purpose of getting into a good university, graduating from university to study for a master's degree, and studying abroad. Parents, teachers, school managers, and education department managers all focus on the rate of admission to higher education. To make their children study with all their strength, parents do not let their children do housework and seek extracurricular tutoring for their children, under the pretext of not letting their children lose at the starting line. Various extracurricular tutoring classes and various extracurricular review materials have emerged, consuming many social resources and social wealth. The pressure from parents, teachers and society has deprived children of the right and fun of being children. They study and review under high pressure from morning to night, even on weekends, without extracurricular activities, social interaction, and freedom. The space for activities has become a veritable reading machine. The so-called bourgeois education line criticized during the Cultural Revolution, which said that everything is inferior except for reading, has revived and reached its extreme. The persecution education policy before the Cultural Revolution only persecuted a few elite families, but the education policy and education practice in the past forty years have affected most people in the whole society. In the Mao Zedong era, the biggest consensus in Chinese society was that labor is glorious, so workers and peasants are glorious, and joining the army to defend the country is glorious. During the Cultural Revolution, 16 million urban educated youth went to the countryside to receive re-education from poor and lower-middle peasants. They were sent to the countryside by their relatives in the city with big red flowers and were very happy. That was the social climate at that time. Deng Xiaoping's reform and opening up completely overturned the social consensus that labor is glorious. Only by getting into college can one become a superior person and be glorious. People who engage in hard physical labor are all losers. The working class, which was once admired, was laid off in large numbers and became the most pitiful social outcasts. At the peak, 400 million Chinese farmers left their hometowns, abandoned their homes and businesses, and wandered around to work. They worked day and night on the construction site doing heavy physical labor, eating the worst food, living in simple sheds on the construction site, and often had their wages taken away by black-hearted foremen and capitalists, leaving them with nothing. China's development over the past few decades contains the blood and tears of so many workers and farmers. The farmers in Mao Zedong's era were also very bitter and tired. They dug rivers and built reservoirs, and they also had to leave the village. But at that time, they worked for themselves and their communities, laying the foundation for the development of their communities, rather than making wedding clothes for some individuals to get rich. Village cadres, commune cadres, and county government leaders worked with them. The meals they ate on the construction site at that time were not very good, but they were often the best meals that the county government, commune, and village collective could provide at that time. The place where they lived was the homes of ordinary farmers, which were also very simple, but they were also the best housing that local farmers could provide. There was no exploitation in Chinese society at that time. They did not work for any individual, and the fruits of their labor belonged to the whole society and the whole community. Unlike in the era of reform and opening, they had no right to live in the houses they built, and the value they created was taken by a small group of capitalists who made money without working. It can be said that the depression of rural China is the inevitable result of the education reform, state-owned enterprise reform and rural reform promoted by Deng Xiaoping and his ilk. Rural cadres have become pseudo-heads of the village The development of the rural collective economy in the Mao Zedong era provided a material basis for the development of socialist democracy in rural areas. Production team members, including cadres at all levels of the production team, must participate in labor and eat, live and work with ordinary members. They have no privileges and are elected by members. They are not state cadres and the state does not pay them wages. They are farmers elected by members to manage the public affairs of the village collective. They come from the people and are part of the people. Their food, clothing, housing, and transportation are all under the supervision of most members. The masses have the right to criticize their words and deeds at meetings or write big-character posters to criticize them. At that time, farmers were always ready to defend the interests of the village collective, because defending the interests of the village collective is defending their own interests. But after the division of land and working alone, farmers no longer have the cohesion of the collective period. Village cadres are no longer the same as they were in Mao Zedong's era. They no longer need to lead the members in labor. They have become full-time managers, helping the government collect taxes and implementing various policies that are unpopular with farmers, especially the one-child policy. Without the help of village cadres, the Chinese government would not be able to implement its unpopular one-child policy in rural areas. Because of this, the government allows village cadres to add many additional levies in addition to the land tax to exploit farmers, and the amount increases year by year, so that the additional levies added by town governments and village cadres exceed the government's land tax by two or three times, making farmers overwhelmed. Every year, there are more than 100,000 violent incidents of farmers against the government, which seriously threatens the security and stability of the country. In 2005, the central government was forced to cancel the collection of agricultural taxes. However, the habits and styles of grassroots cadres who are like farmers have been formed, and they cannot be easily changed. Today's village cadres are all paid by the state. In several villages I visited, the monthly salary of village party secretaries was more than 3,000 yuan. They control the financial power of the village, and have many other gray incomes. Compared with ordinary people in the village, they are truly superior people. To become village cadres, many village cadres invest hundreds of thousands or even millions to elect village cadres, because the return of being a village cadre is too high. Many village cadres come from large families and often rely on their large numbers to oppress villagers. In recent years, many farmers have been oppressed by village cadres, have no place to complain, and have been blocked from petitioning, and have been forced to take the criminal path of dying together with village cadres. I once saw on the Internet that Wang Zhen talked about rural reform in his later years and said that the level of those who carried out rural reform could at most be regarded as the level of pseudo-baozhang. At that time, I did not understand what Wang Zhen meant. Today, seeing many Chinese village cadres become the former pseudo-baozhang, I understand what Wang Zhen meant. The village cadres who used to lead the villagers to fight against heaven and earth and share weal and woe with the villagers have transformed into pseudo-baozhang during the Japanese puppet period, oppressing and plundering the people, and being hated by the villagers. China's problems are already too deep to be reversed. Back then, Deng Xiaoping and Hu Yaobang wielded the stick of "practice is the only criterion for testing truth" and ignored the brilliant achievements made by China's rural areas, agriculture, and farmers in the short 28 years of collective economy. They denied Chairman Mao’s Road to rural collectivization, the golden road of common prosperity. Now, after 40 years of land division and individual farming, China's rural areas have been troubled by the "three rural crises" for decades. If measured by the principle that practice is the only criterion for testing truth, the "land division and individual farming" has completely failed. In fact, from the beginning, this result was no surprise. The "land division and individual farming" in old China for thousands of years did not allow Chinese farmers to live a good life. Most farmers in third world countries all practiced private ownership. No country, including the so-called developed countries, has escaped the "three rural crises". They just turned the "three rural crises" into the crisis of homelessness in the city. The farmers in Mao Zedong's era are still alive today. They know very well that it was the "land division and individual farming" that destroyed their lives and their villages. For these farmers, this is indisputable. But the Party Central Committee headed by Xi Jinping is still the vested interest group of Deng Xiaoping's so-called reform. Various vested interest groups in Chinese society are unwilling to take the first step to negate Deng Xiaoping's reform and opening-up policy, because they would have to bear too many political and economic risks if they did so. However, the contradictions between the vested interest groups and the ordinary Chinese workers and peasants are intensifying, and they have reached the point where they must show their cards. I hope Xi Jinping can take the initiative to take measures to guide Chinese farmers and Chinese society towards a bright future and the golden road of common prosperity. =========================== 4. Han Dongping: The possibility of a war between China and the United States is almost zero Will there be a war between China and the United States? Regarding this issue, a considerable number of American scholars who study international relations and Sino-US relations believe that there will be a war between China and the United States. Professor Graeme Allison of Harvard University wrote a monograph in 2017: Destined for War: Can America and China Escape the Thucydides’s Trap? (Destined for War: Can America and China Escape the Thucydides’s Trap? Houghton Mifflin Harcourt 2017). Professor Allison analyzed the world history of the past five hundred years and found sixteen situations in which a new great power rose and threatened the hegemony of the existing great power. Professor Allison found that among these sixteen potential conflicts, twelve eventually led to war. Based on various theories of international relations, Professor Allison pointed out that unless China slows down its pace of challenging the hegemony of the United States, or the United States lowers its profile and is willing to be the second in the world, China and the United States will inevitably have a war. Many Chinese scholars seem to have concerns that China and the United States will inevitably have a war. When I studied international politics in the United States, the little experience I had was that the various theories and models in the textbooks had little practical significance and use in real life. I remember that the teacher explained various theories and models in class, such as the prisoner's dilemma, and I said that these theories and models were inaccurate and could not truly reflect social reality. As a result, the professor asked back, who said that these theories and models are accurate? Political courses are about studying these theories and models. If you are not interested in these theories and models, you should consider whether you have chosen the wrong major? The professor's words surprised me. To keep my scholarship, I also wrote an article to discuss that the beauty of these theories and models is not whether they are right or wrong, but that they simplify complex social phenomena so that we can see more clearly, just like we use maps, not because maps are accurate, but through maps, we can put the earth in the classroom to study. The professor was very satisfied with my article and praised me in class. The Thucydides Trap used by Professor Alison does not correctly reflect the confrontation between China and the United States. Professor Alison's statement that the leaders of China and the United States want to avoid war is also incorrect. In the past 70 years, the United States has been encircling China and has established hundreds of military bases around China. Dai Xu, a colonel of the Chinese Air Force, who is defined by the Americans as one of the six major Chinese military hawks, has repeatedly pointed out the United States' half-moon encirclement of China. The documentary "The Coming War on China" released in 2016 by John Pilger, a famous Australian journalist, scholar, and documentary director, also pointed out that the United States has been besieging China. The confrontation between China and the United States began 70 years ago. The Korean War in the 1950s and the Vietnam War in the 1960s and 1970s, Chinese leaders knew that it was an indirect war against China. However, these wars were cleverly resolved by Mao Zedong's generation. The most precious sentence Mao Zedong left behind was that the American imperialists have an unyielding desire to destroy us. Therefore, almost from the day the People's Republic of China was founded, it has been preparing to deal with the invasion of the United States. To obtain the support of the Soviet Union, Mao Zedong, who has always advocated self-reliance, signed a treaty of friendship and alliance with the Soviet Union against his will. In 1959, Khrushchev tore up the contract, withdrew the experts, and took away the blueprints. Marshal Chen Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, made a harsh statement that he would make an atomic bomb even if he had to pawn his pants. The Chinese have never wanted to compete with the United States for the world's first place. Back then, the whole nation was mobilized to fight the enemy on their own territory when the enemy invaded their territory. Today, China has atomic bombs, hydrogen bombs, various rockets, various radars, and satellites. China has all kinds of advanced weapons, and China has what the United States does not have. The advanced aircraft and air defense weapons displayed by China at the Zhuhai China Aviation Exhibition have fully demonstrated that China's military technology is no worse than that of the United States. China is the only country in the world that has pledged not to use nuclear weapons first. Many Chinese people believe that this promise should be abandoned. I think this commitment is wise, indicating that China does not want war and will not take the initiative. The United States does not need to misjudge China. China still adheres to this commitment today because China is confident that it can retaliate if its opponent uses nuclear weapons first. Any opponent who wants to provoke China needs to think twice before acting. Many scholars believe that China and the United States will go to war because of Taiwan or the South China Sea. China and the United States cannot go to war because of Taiwan and the South China Sea: the cost is too high and the return is too small. The United States is already heavily in debt and cannot easily start a war. It is not worthwhile to fight a war with China for Taiwan to change the country's destiny. The United States will not do a business that loses money. The United States will not fight with China on China's doorstep for the South China Sea. The United States wants to make trouble for China, but the United States will not do a business that loses money. The United States has never fought a full-scale war with any equal opponent. They will not fight a war without confidence. Today's China is not inferior in terms of weapons. China has a population of 1.4 billion and can mobilize 300 million troops. China's steel production is 15 times that of the United States, and its manufacturing industry is the sum of the United States, Japan, Germany, and France. This is a military force that has never been seen in history. The cost of fighting such an oversized opponent is self-evident. There is no so-called Thucydides Trap between China and the United States. Both China and the United States know that there will be no winners in the war between them, only mutual destruction, which is a disaster that China, the United States, and the whole world cannot bear. In the face of such a disaster, any actual first place is meaningless. 5. Sans-culottes: Revolution and Counter-revolution and Betrayal - Commemorating the 131st Anniversary of Chairman Mao's Birth Since the failure of the socialist revolution around the world at the end of the last century, it has been almost universally summarized by people in one sentence - "This is caused by the failure of the social system." This kind of institutional determinism is deeply trapped in self-contradiction. Even in a society that implements the so-called successful system - the capitalist system of the United States, Europe, Japan, and other countries - as a model, there are dangers everywhere, and it is in a vortex of success and failure, but it has not yet reached the level of institutional failure. The success or failure of social change depends not only on the choice of the system itself, but especially on the comparison of the power of social class struggle. Class struggle is the fundamental driving force for the success and failure of social systems. The reason why the capitalist social system is still "successful" so far is that the revolutionary power of the ruled proletariat is too weak compared to the counter-revolutionary ruling power of the capitalist class, and thus cannot overthrow this social system, which is bound to fail due to violating the laws of historical development, but temporarily survives with its "rationality", that is, reality, and so-called success. Engels once quoted Hegel's words: "Everything that is real is rational", but Engels went on to say: Everything that is rational will be overthrown; that is, "People's consciousness changes with the changes in their living conditions, their social relations, and their social existence. The ruling ideas of any era are always the ideas of the ruling class." (Marx and Engels: "The Communist Manifesto") The proposition of social system determinism is obviously the result of being constrained by the ideas of the capitalist ruling class. The socialist revolution did not fail because of the failure of the system, but because of the failure of class struggle, which led to the emergence of forces that betrayed the revolution, that is, the betrayal of the modern revisionist counter-revolutionary forces pointed out by Chairman Mao. Although the Western propaganda at home and abroad boasts about how powerful it is and how it has completely defeated the socialist revolutionary movement, and is complacent and arrogant; however, the real role in defeating the Great Revolution was not external forces but the internal modern revisionism or right-wing opportunism that betrayed the revolution. This was the Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Gorbachev, and Yeltsin group in the former Soviet Union, and the Hua, Ye, Wang, Li, Deng, Jiang, Hu, Xi, and other traitorous counter-revolutionary gangs took advantage of the death of their outstanding revolutionary leaders to overthrow socialism and restore capitalism. But the good times did not last long. Although the world bourgeois group attempted to use the remaining power of the counter-revolution to carry out capitalism to the end-never changing color, the reality did not work out. They faced a counterattack from the increasingly powerful proletarian revolutionary forces that opposed betrayal. Represented by the bourgeoisie of the United States, Europe, and Japan the ruling class and its ideology, culture, politics, and ideology are all in great crisis. The general trend within the group has shifted from disagreement to split, from split to opposition, and from opposition to struggle. In other words, the previous revolution and betrayal are transforming into counter-revolution and its betrayal - that is, the betrayal force that splits, opposes, and struggles against the counter-revolutionary ruling class. The most notable betrayal force of the counter-revolutionary group is the Trump MAGA Party, which emerged due to the split within the bourgeois counter-revolutionary ruling group in the United States. This is because the Democratic and Republican parties in the United States have been terminally ill and have entered a state of decay, decline, lingering and dying. Under the circumstance that the counter-revolutionary forces themselves cannot revive, they can only rely on forces outside the two parties - this is the only way out. The bourgeois Eastern group represented by Russia and China took advantage of the opportunity of the contradictions within the Western group that was conducive to suppressing the internal betrayal forces, and was deadlocked with the brave and hegemonic Western group, and did not hesitate to confront and even fight. The voice of the crisis of the third world war has been heard. Chairman Mao pointed out: "From great chaos to great order". Do not be afraid of chaos. Only by disrupting the enemy can we unite ourselves and gain opportunities in desperate situations. In the Western world, the American proletariat, as an advanced revolutionary force, will have sufficient conditions to use the power of MAGA as a springboard to eventually seize power and realize the new democratic revolution with the progressive, enlightened, and vital bourgeois factions in the United States under the guidance of the new democratic revolution theory pioneered by Chairman Mao. As for Russia and China, after the proletariat seizes power, it also needs to go through the intermediate stage of the new democratic revolution, and then reach the second cultural revolution - with the purpose of opposing revisionism and preventing revisionism, and continuing the revolution under the dictatorship of the proletarian socialist democratic revolution, this goal. ========================== 6. Li Mengxin: Reflecting on the differences between socialism and capitalism from real-life experience As a young person, I have little knowledge and cannot make too many in-depth analyses of history or theory, but I am willing to use my own experience as a basis to explain my experience and reflections on socialism and capitalism. On this special day, we jointly remember Chairman Mao’s great contributions to China and the world, and think about the value and enlightenment of his thoughts today. The differences between the two systems from different responses to the epidemic the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic is a global crisis and a mirror that reflects the nature of different systems. In Western countries, the government's "saving the rich and abandoning the poor" policy has made capital giants stronger in the crisis, while ordinary families have fallen into difficulties, vulnerable groups have been ignored, and social divisions have been further aggravated. On the other hand, China has demonstrated the superiority of the "equal treatment" system. From the rapid establishment of square cabin hospitals to universal vaccination, China has protected the lives of the people with its efficient organization and mobilization capabilities, reflecting the fundamental concept of the socialist system of "putting people at the center". Where does the United States' strength come from? The reason why the United States is considered strong mainly comes from the following three pillars: US dollar: The international financial system dominated by the US dollar has consolidated the US economic hegemony. The US military: Its strong military power enables it to occupy a dominant position in international affairs. The American Dream: Through the capital of Wall Street, the technology of Silicon Valley and the cultural output of Hollywood, it stimulates people's desires and builds the cultural appeal of capitalism. However, behind this strength is the unlimited expansion of desires and social inequality, and its internal contradictions are gradually emerging. Comparison of the core concepts of socialism and capitalism Socialism: Emphasis on equality and collective interests, focusing on spiritual values and social harmony. Capitalism: Advocate for free markets and maximized efficiency, and pay more attention to personal desires and material pursuits. In economic operation, capitalism relies on market economy and emphasizes competition and individual efficiency, while socialism emphasizes planned economy and fair distribution of resources. In the past, socialism was criticized for its efficiency, but today the inefficiency and asset bubble problems within capitalism are becoming increasingly serious, and signs of its internal collapse are gradually emerging. The advantages of socialism and contemporary enlightenment The advantages of socialism: reducing the gap between the rich and the poor, and ensuring basic people's livelihood needs such as education, housing, and medical care. Social resources can be concentrated on responding to major challenges and promoting common prosperity and long-term stability. Realistic enlightenment: Chairman Mao's "serving the people" is our beacon for progress. In today's context of growing global inequality, how can we ensure that everyone can "have food to eat, have education, and live with dignity"? This is a topic that we need to continue to think deeply and practice. Cherish the great spirit of Chairman Mao Chairman Mao devoted his life to promoting fairness and justice. His ideas not only changed China, but also inspired oppressed people all over the world. He firmly believed that "the people, and only the people, are the driving force behind the creation of world history", and this concept still has profound practical significance today. On the 131st anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth, we should not only cherish his great achievements, but also draw on his wisdom and take it as our responsibility to promote social progress. Today's China, standing on the foundation laid by Chairman Mao, has moved towards prosperity and strength. However, we must also be vigilant against the hidden dangers of capitalism, stay true to our original aspirations, always focus on the interests of the people, and pursue the long-term goal of fairness and justice. I think this is the deepest nostalgia for Chairman Mao and the most resolute commitment to the future. ========================= 7. Hua Junxiong: Clean up the house before inviting guests, starting with relaxing transit visa exemption In January 1949, with the victory of the three major battles of Liaoshen, Huaihai, and Pingjin, most of China was about to be liberated. At this time, an urgent problem facing the leaders of the Communist Party of China was to formulate the foreign policy of New China. From January 31 to early February 1949, Chairman Mao Zedong introduced the diplomatic policy of New China in his talks with Soviet Politburo member Mikoyan, namely "clean up the house before inviting guests". He said: "If we compare our country to a family, its house is too dirty, with firewood, garbage, dust, fleas, bedbugs, lice and everything else. After liberation. We must clean up and rectify it seriously, and wait until the house is clean, orderly, and well-furnished before inviting guests in." 2024 is the 75th anniversary of the founding of New China and the 46th anniversary of reform and opening. China has gone from standing up to getting rich and then becoming strong. In the past few decades, China has completed the rise of "integrating four industrial revolutions". The rise of China's township enterprises in the 1980s marked the first industrial revolution; the second industrial revolution represented by electricity and manufacturing was basically completed from the early 1990s to around 2020. In the third industrial revolution, China's communication technology has evolved from 2G to 4G, and China has changed from a follower to a leader. At present, China is in the first echelon of the fourth industrial revolution represented by big data, artificial intelligence, quantum communication, etc. According to purchasing power parity, China has become the world's largest economy, the largest industrial chain and industrial cluster, the largest goods trading country, and the country that exports the most tourists to the world. In 2020, China will be completely lifted out of poverty. According to statistics from the International Monetary Fund, China has lifted 850 million people out of poverty and created the world's largest middle class. It has built the world's largest education system, social security system, and medical and health system, and continuously improved the level of social governance in terms of socialization, rule of law, intelligence, and specialization, continuing the miracle of long-term social stability. For decades, all Chinese people, under the unified and strong leadership of the Communist Party, have rolled up their sleeves and worked one after another, writing a rare and magnificent chapter in the history of human development. However, as China has achieved increasingly brilliant results, the distortion and smearing of the US and Western media have become more and more serious. In this case, we can only open the door and take the road, so that the people of the world can see the truth and expose the lies and hypocrisy of the US and Western media. Therefore, it is time for China to relax its transit visa exemption policy! On December 17, the China National Immigration Administration issued an announcement to comprehensively relax and optimize the transit visa exemption policy from now on, extending the stay time of foreigners in China from the original 72 hours and 144 hours to 240 hours (10 days), and adding 21 new ports as entry and exit ports for transit visa exemption personnel, and further expanding the stay area. Eligible people from 54 countries (40 in Europe, 6 in the Americas, 2 in Oceania, and 6 in Asia) who transit through China to a third country (region) can enter China without a visa from any of the 60 open ports in 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), and stay in the specified area for no more than 240 hours. Since the implementation of the transit visa exemption policy, more and more foreign friends have come to China for sightseeing, investment negotiations, and visiting relatives and friends, praising China's achievements in modern development. The media traffic with "China Travel" as the main body exceeded 1 billion on the international Internet. Based on the 144-hour "Meet China", more than 80% of foreign tourists left when the deadline was approaching. Many people hope to have more time to travel to more places. According to the latest statistics, from January to November 2024, 229.218 million foreigners entered China through various ports, an increase of 86.2% year-on-year: 17.446 million of them entered through visa-free entry, an increase of 123.3% year-on-year. The number of foreigners coming to China under the 72/144-hour transit visa-free policy increased by 132.9% year-on-year. It is estimated that the number of visitors to China will increase after the transit visa-free policy is relaxed to 240 hours. Affected by the malicious propaganda of the US and Western media, people coming to China were anxious and uneasy before. But they relaxed immediately upon arriving at the airport. The airport is spacious and bright. In addition to convenient customs clearance, there are also open and confident smiles. After entering the city, they will find that Chinese cities are fashionable, safe, prosperous, and colorful, and the most important thing is safety. In the United States, the probability of a person becoming a victim of violent crime is 70 times higher than in China. In the United States and the West, few people dare to go to the park or wander the streets alone in the early morning or late at night because of the lack of security. Among the four freedoms, freedom from fear is the real freedom. China's system and governance model are unique. It has eliminated extreme poverty in China, ensured the safety of everyone's life, provided a stable development environment for China, and brought sustained prosperity and improved people's quality of life. Ultimately, it guarantees that the Chinese people have more freedom, including freedom from fear and freedom from want. In the 1990s, China embraced Western-led globalization, and some people worried that China would abandon its traditions and socialist ideas. However, China combined Marxism with China's reality and embarked on a socialist road with Chinese characteristics that is different from both the Soviet model and the Western path. With a super-large population, super-vast territory, super-long historical traditions, super-rich cultural accumulation; a unique language, unique society, unique politics, and unique economy, a civilization-shaped country has established a unique Chinese model. Its philosophical foundation is practical rationality, it pursues good governance, and it develops a mixed economy. The Chinese model strives to achieve a balance between political forces, social forces and capital forces that is beneficial to the interests of the majority. The Chinese model can indeed provide many new wisdoms for the modernization of many countries and global governance. Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era is a new world economic system after feudalism, capitalism, and the Soviet model of socialism. This model organically combines the centralization of national strategic planning and the full competitiveness of the market, the socialist ideology of the masses and the creative self-realization of individuals. The leadership role of the party is the most important part of this system and model. Foreign friends who visit China can easily find that China is both an ancient civilized country and a very modern superpower. The rising China is redefining what modernization and modernity are. Over decades of development, China's achievements have eloquently proved that the path China has taken is successful and the model it follows is correct. But based on its own experience, China knows that a model must be suitable for a country's own reality, history, culture, and social conditions. There is no single standard that suits all countries and societies in the world. No country can mechanically and rigidly copy the model of other countries, so China does not export models. In the process of implementing the [Belt and Road Initiative], China has developed bilateral and multilateral relations with various national groups, international organizations, special groups, committees, etc., considering the concerns of all parties, following the principles of consultation, joint construction and sharing, respecting, and trusting various values, and attaching importance to peaceful development and mutual benefit and win-win results. China does not engage in a zero-sum game of you lose and I win, but strives to build a community with a shared future for mankind. China's policy of relaxing transit visa exemption will surely be able to "please the near and far". The Chinese government's graceful confidence, the Chinese people's cordiality and enthusiasm, China's beautiful scenery is pleasing to the eye, and China's delicious food is popular, which will inevitably make foreign friends "love China as soon as they come to China". The distorted reports of the United States and the West have broken down with China's relaxation of transit visa exemption. 8. Wenping: Thoughts on returning to China A few days ago, I took a trip to the Greater Bay Area in mainland China. This time, as before, it was very touching. Urban construction is changing with each passing day. There are many high-rise buildings, the market is bustling, and transportation hubs such as high-speed rail, subway, and automobile are integrated, extending in all directions, which is very convenient and extraordinary. In addition, as a tourist, of course, you pay attention to food. You can find everything that flies in the sky, walks on the ground, and swims in the water. There are also all kinds of grilled, stewed, fried, steamed, stir-fried, stir-fried, and stewed. It is a prosperous scene. However, there are also some small regrets. Having heard about the reputation of the high-speed rail, we decided to take the high-speed rail from Guangzhou East Station back to Hong Kong’s West Kowloon. While waiting for the train in the passenger lobby, I happened to have a question that I wanted to know about, so I went to the information desk. There were seven or eight uniformed personnel chatting around it. There was an older man outside the circle, I believe he was the leader. He was just watching, not say. I stayed next to them for several minutes. No one asked me what I needed, and I could not get it. I felt a little embarrassed and had to leave. After getting on the high-speed train, I felt that the arrangement was first-class, it was easy to find a seat, and it was very comfortable. The car had not even started yet, so I had to pay the water bill, so I went to find the bathroom. Asked a senior waiter where to look, she said this is the electric room, go to the other side. When I got to the other side, I opened the door and saw that the gold had not been cleaned yet, so I had to turn to the second room. Fortunately, it was safe. The problem is that the bus has not yet departed and passengers are still getting on. How could such a strange thing happen? The speed of the high-speed train, the comfort of the ride, and the beautiful ethnic style are surprising. The scenery along the way is beautiful and picturesque, and the girl selling snacks on the high-speed train is very beautiful and elegant. The high-speed rail is quiet and smooth, fast and feels like sitting at home. The journey we took was only a short one, which shows how brilliant the achievements were that the grand project could be realized in just a dozen years. When operating for a long time, some problems will inevitably occur. Back in Hong Kong, I checked into a hotel that often receives mainland tour groups. One time when I just entered the elevator, a few young men and women happened to come, so I pressed the pause button and waited for them. After they entered the elevator, they were still talking to themselves, as if there was no one else around them. The hierarchy and indifference in their eyes made them afraid to compliment and identify with these young people. Suddenly I remembered a sign I saw in a hotel in Guangzhou a few days ago. It said: "It is strictly prohibited to illegally bring guns, controlled knives, drugs and other flammable, explosive and other dangerous items into the venue." Drug use and drug trafficking are strictly prohibited. Prostitution is strictly prohibited. Gambling is strictly prohibited." In recalling the past, I have never seen such a severe notice, and I cannot help but feel a little emotional. One of the two slogans in Tiananmen Square, Long Live the Republic, is really a complex work. Returning to the United States after the trip was like going from a paradise that was getting better day by day back to a reality that was slipping away day by day. Although the election has long ended, the new president has also begun to promote a new deal. Question is yes, based on past life experience, will it be better four years later, or twelve years later, than now? As for the great unity of the world, it is far away and there is still a long way to go. Because the weirdness of those three thousand mobile phones cannot be concealed, and there may never be a truth. I recently watched a gala online to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Macau's return to the motherland. The last scene, "I love you, China," filled Taiwan with red and green. This scene will happen when Taiwan returns to the motherland in the future. Borrowing the language from the program, it is exactly that, the stars are turning, changing with the times, the heart is excited, the tears are filled, the three spring lights, the words of a loving mother, the years are far away, the heart is like a lotus, watching the flowers bloom, they are reunited. With Chairman Mao Zedong and Mao Zedong Thought in China, the Chinese people are so happy. The Chinese nation will surely complete the great cause of the reunification and rejuvenation of the motherland. ========================= 9. Morning glory: Chairman Mao and Chinese medicine - Talk about three things about Chinese medicine (I) The Tianhui Medical Slips, which is earlier than the Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine (II) Chairman Mao advocated Chinese medicine (III) The current endangered situation - what is the future of Chinese medicine? (I) The Tianhui Medical Slips, which is earlier than the Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine The first classic of Chinese medicine has always been said to be the Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine, but the cultural relics unearthed in Chengdu in 2012 show that there is another medical book that is earlier than the Canon of Internal Medicine: The Tianhui Medical Slips. In 2012, many medical bamboo slips were discovered in the "Laoguanshan Han Tomb", a tomb from the Western Han Dynasty in Tianhui Town, Jinniu District, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This batch of bamboo slips has been soaked in water for more than 2,000 years, and they are seriously damaged and scattered. The working group combined the shape, stacking status, font differences, and content of the bamboo slips, and imitated the process of making bamboo slips by the ancients. It took three years to solve the key problems of bamboo slip compilation and interpretation. After sorting and splicing, 930 medical slips with more than 20,000 Chinese characters were obtained, including seal script, ancient official script, and official script. These are books used by the tomb owner during his lifetime, rather than being copied at the time of burial. After ten years of sorting and research, this batch of precious bamboo slips was compiled and published in 2022, named "Tianhui Medical Slips", including "Pulse Book·Upper Classic", "Pulse Book·Lower Classic", "Reverse and Forward Five Color Pulses to Test the Spirit", "犮理", "Acupuncture Number", "Treatment of Sixty Diseases and Qi Decoction Method", "Meridian", "Treatment of Horses", and there are bamboo slips, figurines, meridians and human figures. "Tianhui Medical Slips" may be the lost medical book of Bian Que The bamboo slips contain many medical terms and should be an ancient medical work. The word "Bixi" appears many times in the bamboo slips, and the characteristics of the Qi dialect at that time are reflected in the text, so it is believed to be a medical book written by Bian Que. Most of the medical slips talk about color pulse diagnosis and acupuncture principles, which are in line with Bian Que's medicine. "Five-color pulse diagnosis" was also discovered, which is the outstanding symbol of Bian Que's medicine. According to archaeological and academic inferences, the main content of the medical slips is the main part was copied from the period from Empress Lü to Emperor Wen of the Western Han Dynasty. The time when Cang Gong Chunyuyi practiced medicine and taught was not far apart in the "Records of the Grand Historian: Biographies of Bian Que and Cang Gong". The tomb owner was buried in the period of Emperor Jingdi and Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty, and his age should be equivalent to Cang Gong's disciples. The medical books passed down by Bian Que and Cang Gong were introduced from Qi and Lu to Shu during the reign of Emperor Jingdi of the Han Dynasty and were the mainstream medicine of the Han Dynasty. The medical level of the Han Dynasty reflected in the book was very advanced. Not only did it use Chinese patent medicine, but it also had a detailed color pulse diagnosis system, proving that medicine more than 2,000 years ago had a complete theoretical and clinical system. "Huangdi Neijing" is a book of interpretation of the classics, and the "classic" it interprets is "Tianhui Medical Bamboo Slips" "Huangdi Neijing" has always been regarded as the earliest medical book in China, and it is called "classic". Now, in a comparative study with the unearthed "Medical Bamboo Slips", “Neijing” was not originally a "classic" but a book of interpretation of the classics, and the "classic" it interprets is "Tianhui Medical Bamboo Slips". (III) Chairman Mao advocates TCM (IV) *** Listening to the work report of He Cheng, Vice Minister of Health, in December 1953 *** “If China has something to contribute to the world, I think TCM is one... TCM was born based on agriculture and handicrafts. This is a huge legacy, and we must absorb its positive side and give full play to it. “We have few Western doctors, and the vast majority of people urgently need to rely on TCM.” *** Important instructions in 1954 *** “Traditional Chinese medicine should be well protected and developed. TCM in my country has a history of thousands of years and is a very precious asset of the motherland. If we let it decline, it will be our fault. "Chinese medicine books should be sorted out. We should organize knowledgeable Chinese medicine practitioners to translate some useful books from ancient Chinese into modern Chinese in a planned and focused manner. When the time is right, we should organize them to compile a set of systematic Chinese medicine books based on their own experience." *** Talk with Zhou Zezhao, director of Beijing Hospital, on June 5, 1954 *** "We attach importance to new foreign things, but despise our own things. Massage, which can be done by even barbers and pedicures, is looked down upon and is not called massage therapy. It is very bad and abominable to look down on our own things and Chinese medicine." "The issue of Chinese medicine is not just about curing a few people, but about cultural heritage. We must improve Chinese medicine to the point where it can contribute to the world." "First, we must change our thinking and work style. We must respect our country's long-standing cultural heritage and respect Chinese medicine so that we can learn it. Second, we must establish research institutions. Without respect and learning, there is no research. Without research, there is no improvement. There are always essences and dregs. No one in the Ministry of Health is doing this work, so I will do it." "We should select 100 to 200 graduates from medical universities or medical colleges to be assigned to famous Chinese medicine practitioners to learn their clinical experience, and we should learn with an open mind." *** Instructions on Chinese medicine work on July 9, 1954 *** "Uniting Chinese and Western medicine are one of the guidelines for health work. The problem of uniting Chinese and Western medicine has not been done well because there are big problems with Western medicine, mainly because Western medicine has a sectarian style. After Western medicine was introduced to China, many people ignored Chinese medicine. We must pay attention to Chinese medicine. It is also wrong to over-estimate Chinese medicine. The purpose of uniting Chinese medicine is to develop Chinese medicine science. First, we must make it clear that this is not only for China's problems, but also for the world. To master Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine, we must have the participation of Western medicine and absorb experienced Chinese medicine practitioners. It is not enough to rely on one side. It is not enough to have Western medicine without Chinese medicine, and it is not enough to have Chinese medicine without Western medicine." "The issue of traditional Chinese medicine is related to the prevention and treatment of diseases for hundreds of millions of working people. It is also related to the dignity, independence, and self-confidence of the Chinese nation. Chinese medicine has a long history and rich content. In medicine, we have the conditions to create our own new medicine. The fact that China's population has reached 600 million is partly due to traditional Chinese medicine. Western medicine has only been in China for a hundred years. Of course, Western medicine is modern and has some good things, but everything is imported, which is the influence of slave mentality. Looking down on Chinese things and not respecting national cultural heritage is the extremely despicable and bad mentality of the bourgeoisie. If Western medicine does not have a sectarian style, the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine in curing diseases can be sorted out with scientific methods." "The "Tangtou" of traditional Chinese medicine cannot be studied only from a chemical perspective. It must be combined with clinical research to improve traditional Chinese medicine. Ancient Chinese books say: The best doctor treats the country, the middle doctor treats people, and the lowest doctor treats diseases." This means emphasizing the integrity of the human body, which is consistent with Pavlov's theory.” “Chinese medicine used new technologies thousands of years ago, such as ‘sports and ‘massage’. Although there are some idealistic things in them, we can extract the good ones. Chinese medicine should enter large hospitals, medical universities, and even go abroad. Chinese medicine should be developed, research institutions should be established, and books on Chinese medicine and Chinese medicine should be published. Western medicine should learn from Chinese medicine and have two sets of skills so that Chinese and Western medicine can be combined and there will be a unified Chinese new medicine and new pharmacy. Specific measures must be formulated for these tasks.” *** On April 15, 1955, Wang Dongxing was sent to Hangzhou to visit acupuncture expert Zhu Lian *** “Acupuncture is the essence of the essence of Chinese medicine. It should be promoted and studied well. It has a bright future.” “The study of acupuncture will have a great impact on the reform of medical theory. Do not think that acupuncture is a local thing. Acupuncture is scientific and will be used by all countries in the world in the future. The experience of Chinese medicine must be sorted out with the participation of Western medicine. It is difficult for Chinese medicine alone to sort out.” *** Encouraging Western doctors to learn Chinese medicine from the end of 1955 to the beginning of 1956 *** “We should use Western modern science to study the laws of traditional Chinese medicine and develop new Chinese medicine.” “You are Western doctors, but you must be Chineseized. You must learn a set of things to study China in the future and make what you have learned Chineseized.” “We should learn from the strengths of foreign countries to organize China and create something with China’s own unique national style. Only in this way can the truth be explained and the national confidence will not be lost.” *** Letter to Yang Shangkun on October 11, 1958 *** “I think if we can hold a Western doctor resignation study class of 70 to 80 people in each province, city and autonomous region in 1958 for a period of two years, then in the winter of 1960 or the spring of 1961, we will have about 2,000 such senior doctors who combine Chinese and Western medicine, among whom there may be several brilliant theorists.”” “Holding a training session for western medicine practitioners to study Chinese medicine is a big deal and should not be taken lightly.” (III) Current endangered situation - what is the future of Chinese medicine? “The biggest crisis of Chinese medicine is that there is no successor. Perhaps within 50 years, Chinese medicine will automatically withdraw from the stage of history without being cancelled by others.” This is the feeling of an old Chinese medicine practitioner. According to incomplete statistics, there are about 5.5 million western medicine practitioners in my country, while there are only about 400,000 Chinese medicine practitioners, which is 20% less than in the 1950s. At present, my country is mainly a group of Chinese medicine practitioners over 50 years old who are struggling to survive, and there are fewer and fewer young people who are interested in Chinese medicine. Chinese medicine is in an unprecedented "inheritance crisis". Chinese medicine colleges and universities are the cradle of Chinese medicine talents. However, even here, Chinese medicine education is facing the fate of Western medicine. Students spend 1/3 of their time studying Western medicine, 1/3 of their time studying foreign languages, and 1/3 of their time studying foreign languages. It has become a common phenomenon that students spend too much time learning Chinese medicine. Some Chinese medicine classics courses have been constantly cut and even become elective courses, while Western medicine theories are increasingly strengthened. Many students have high foreign language and computer skills, but poor Chinese cultural and traditional cultural cultivation. Some cannot read "Huangdi Neijing" or "Shanghan Lun", and some cannot even recite the basic "Yao Xing Fu" and "Tangtou Ge Jue". What is more frightening is that the higher the education level, the further away from the characteristics of Chinese medicine. Many Chinese medicine postgraduates do not work hard on the theoretical basis and clinical practice of Chinese medicine, but follow the model of Western medicine to study cells and molecules and do a lot of animal experiments. It is said that "Chinese and Western medicine are equally important", but in fact it is "Western medicine is more important than Chinese medicine". As a result, many students do not know how to "look, smell, ask and feel" after graduation, nor can they prescribe medicines. They are called Chinese medicine, but in fact they are Western medicine. Some experts pointed out sharply: "Modern Chinese medicine education has turned students into semi-finished products who are not proficient in Chinese medicine and are not familiar with Western medicine, and has cultivated a group of gravediggers of Chinese medicine.”” The lack of talent in traditional Chinese medicine is also related to the current capitalist system. Traditional Chinese medicine hospitals are in a recession and have a hard time surviving. Due to the low fees for traditional Chinese medicine, which cannot reflect the technical content of traditional Chinese medicine, many traditional Chinese medicine hospitals must abandon "Chinese" and go for "Western", and their diagnosis and treatment are almost the same as those of Western hospitals. For example, for patients with closed fractures, the use of traditional Chinese medicine bone-setting techniques is not only less painful and effective, but also cheap. However, to make more money, many traditional Chinese medicine hospitals have abandoned traditional bone-setting techniques and switched to Western medicine surgery, which is more invasive and expensive. Traditional Chinese medicine projects such as acupuncture and massage charge even lower fees, and even cannot make up for the cost. Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners work hard all their lives, but their families are penniless; while Western medicine practitioners not only have a high social status, but also have considerable income. Faced with such a contrast, the younger generation is naturally unwilling to stick to traditional Chinese medicine. "I don't see the ancients in front of me, and I don't see the future in the future. Thinking of the vastness of the world, I am alone and shed tears. "The ancient Bian Que and Hua Tuo have long passed away. Where are the next generation of Bian Que and Hua Tuo? Thinking about the past and looking at the present, who cannot worry about the fate of traditional Chinese medicine? Is there still hope for traditional Chinese medicine? Two years ago, at the commemoration of Chairman Mao's 129th birthday, someone mentioned the successful prevention and treatment of schistosomiasis in the 1950s. He said: "China has a long history of schistosomiasis. Schistosomiasis was detected in the ancient corpses of the Han Dynasty in Mawangdui, Changsha. My hometown is in the two lakes and the bank of the Yangtze River, and has suffered from schistosomiasis for a long time. I remember when I was a child, I saw a relative who had recovered for many years, but his abdomen was still very swollen, which scared the children. If it was an individualistic plan, it would probably be to use clean water and eat clean vegetables, which, at least at that time, was only a privilege that a small number of people in society could enjoy. But Chairman Mao mobilized the masses, combined science with the people, and truly carried out the cause of public health, eliminated snails, and improved hygiene, so that most people in my hometown were free from the poisoning of schistosomiasis. Without socialism, "Hua Tuo can do nothing to the little bugs", but with socialism and the power of the people, we can "burn paper boats with candles to illuminate the sky". How can such historical records not give us important inspiration for those who are in the public health crisis? " What is the future of Chinese medicine? It lies in the mass line! Popularization is the future of Chinese medicine, and the barefoot doctors during the Cultural Revolution are the future. The hope of Chinese medicine does not lie in professional talents but in "the power of the people"! Chairman Mao's mass line points out a bright prospect for us. ========================== 10. Lao Dong: The watershed of history - looking at today's domain, it proves the correctness of Mao Zedong's path In the past year, people have seen the evolution of the world situation, and its ups and downs are so great that it involves countries and regions. The advancement and complexity of modern warfare methods such as space network surveillance and artificial intelligence command, social unrest, wars everywhere, refugees everywhere, in a word: the world is in chaos and there is no peace. The current social unrest in the capital era is equivalent to the social unrest when the last feudal dynasty lost its position. It marks the beginning of the collapse of the old rule and the old order. The world situation will continue to develop until the reconstruction of the new rule and the new order. This year, the new year, will be a historical turning point with watershed significance in the era of global rule of capital. 1. Capital global rule from great unification to great collapse Chaos can be seen everywhere in the world: people are dissatisfied, society collapses, and the system collapses. The great unrest in the United States and Europe the election showed that the global capital system can no longer function. The image of freedom, democracy, and the rule of law as the superiority of the system has been completely lost. The so-called democratic elections and the separation of powers (government execution, parliamentary supervision, and judicial independence) in which the two parties took turns to act as the dealers have been messed up. Those who came to power abused their power and those who left power were imprisoned. The minimum program of the ruling class to unite and share the spoils has also been overturned. They are enemies of each other, using open and covert means, and using any means. The winner is the king and the loser is the bandit. The public power fights privately, from top to bottom, from inside to outside, and the global capital hegemony is out of control. Swallowing the Middle East is the fuse for the collapse of hegemony at the beginning of the 21st century, the United States proposed the so-called new world vision, with the "axis of evil" as the first target of the hegemony. Everyone knows Sima Zhao's intention, which is to clean up the mess after the collapse of the Soviet Union and China's formal signing of the WTO to join the capital hegemony system and achieve the goal of global unification. The evil countries of the axis are all in the Middle East, which is the concentration of the earth's oil energy. After the Middle East is cleaned up, the next step is to completely incorporate the two former socialist countries, Russia and China, and further incorporate Russia, which has changed to parliamentary elections, into NATO. Finally, China will establish a multi-party democratic election to complete the unification of the global political, economic, legal, and capital system of capital hegemony, and downgrade the country to a local government. This wishful thinking was named the vision of the 21st century by the Republican think tank at the time. Starting from Iraq in 2003, it was convicted of "WMD (weapons of mass destruction)" and passed by the UN Security Council. It was conquered by the "righteous army" of the Crusades. This abacus started as expected. In a few months, it has become "Mission Accomplished (mission completed)” to celebrate the success. However, the subsequent development reversed at an accelerated speed, and it became the hegemony that killed itself. The appetite of capital hegemony was so big that it could swallow up the world, but its political incompetence was also completely exposed at this time. After 20 years, a super hegemony not only failed to unify the world, but also rotted and disintegrated, evolving into today's defeat. People's self-help defeated hegemony From showing off to a complete retreat, there were two factors that caused an incredible turn. One was the corruption and incompetence of the hegemony itself, and the other was the self-help of the people in the Middle East. But the most fundamental one was the latter. At that time, all the governments of the Middle Eastern countries repeatedly surrendered to the United States and Europe, and used the suppression of local people as a token of joining the global capital. The most typical example was Hussen in Iraq, who refused to change his mind until his death. When the government no longer existed, the perverse actions of the US military under occupation inspired the people's resistance. The persistence of the resistance drove away the invaders. In the 21st century, the hegemony was defeated twice, once in Afghanistan and once in the Middle East. The people's resistance made the super-powerful United States unable to recover. This is what people have witnessed in the past 20 years. The rise of the people in the Middle East dragged down the arrogant American hegemony, but their own experience was unprecedentedly dangerous. The 20 years of the 21st century were also the 20 years when the people of the Middle East suffered the most and made the greatest sacrifices. The Middle East has become a semi-colony of the contemporary capitalist world The result of the defeat of the United States is that the Middle East has become a semi-colony under the global capital system, which is equivalent to the semi-colonial status that China faced when it was divided and destroyed: the outside is various major forces, and the inside is a country that is not a country. The warlords representing the powerful forces are fighting each other, and the ruling government signs a surrender treaty to cede land, pay compensation and give up power. The current Middle East is: land division, national destruction, social darkness, people are ravaged, and never see the sun. Israel has been upgraded to the general agent of hegemony in the Middle East the US hegemony temporarily withdrew from the situation after its collapse, and Israel became the general agent in the Middle East. The agent is rampant in the Middle East, doing whatever he wants, and is more fearless than the master. The Gaza region has become an Israeli concentration camp, and the people have no autonomy. The West Bank has become a trusteeship government, abandoned its arms, and became a new immigrant area for Israel. In this situation, countries around the world have turned a blind eye and no one cares, allowing the United States, Europe, and Israel to play different roles in proposing solutions to Palestine. However, the youth of Gaza have launched several intifada uprisings that have attracted worldwide attention, using stones as weapons to fight against the Israeli occupation forces. But the situation of the Palestinian people is getting worse and worse, and they are sitting and waiting to die, with no hope. However, the boundless suffering has trained the people's spirit that cannot be suppressed. On October 6 last year, the armed uprising in Gaza once again sounded the clarion call for the people's revolutionary self-salvation. 2. The Great Awakening of the People: Universal and Profound For a year, it has been in plain sight: the US and Israel have gone against the grain and exterminated humanity, awakening the people of the world. This awakening has made us realize that the Palestinian issue is vital to the lives of the people of the world: the Palestinian issue is the common knot of the Islamic culture and Arab nation, the final test of the rebirth of the Arab people, first the conscience of the Middle Eastern people, and determines the survival of the Arab national culture. In the era of globalization, the way out for the people of the Middle East represents the future of the oppressed people of the world. The people of the Middle East, who are at the center of turmoil, have suffered endless and unforgettable suffering. We have a deeper understanding of the nature of the capitalist system and realize the powerlessness of protest itself. This time, the profound lesson is that the Arab people of the Middle East scattered around the world have become the mouthpieces of justice for Palestine, and they are playing against the mainstream Western propaganda. Senior scholars who were used as cultural compradors by the West no longer explain or cover up for the United States and Europe, and unanimously expose the US peace talks agreement as a deceptive trick, which is intended to ease international pressure and let Israel do whatever it wants. The people of the Middle East abandon illusions and are determined to save themselves The people of Palestine have learned the most and suffered the most. This performance locally and globally shows the thoroughness of their awakening and the determination of their fighting will. Palestinians around the world, if they can contribute, regardless of life and death, return to their hometown to rescue their fellow countrymen in Gaza. They come forward to speak out, and use their personal experiences and video and audio recordings to announce the tragic situation in Gaza. This is why the propaganda of the mainstream media makes people feel more hypocritical. What is even more admirable is that none of the local people betrayed Hamas fighters, but instead became the new blood of the underground force. In contrast, in neighboring Lebanon, because Israel has full control of internal intelligence, the leading figures have been assassinated one by one, and in the occupied Palestine, from being attacked to killing Sinwar, they were all accidents. When the Gaza refugees were completely blocked by Israel, I served as a front-line news reporter, and I was also the focus of the local Israeli murder. It is indeed a case of the husband's death and the wife's succession, and the brother's death and the younger brother's succession. The local people are "united as one", which is what outsiders are most moved by. The global people's great unity against Israel and aid to Palestine The whole world, international organizations, all countries, most people, especially the young generation, oppose the rampant US-Israel violence in Gaza. Calls, demonstrations, international condemnation, sanctions, domestic election boycotts, campus occupations and other demonstrations are all over the world. The duration and momentum are greater than the anti-war movement in the past. Especially prominent is that among young Jews, they openly condemn Zionism and the double act between the United States and Israel, and even admit that the sufferings suffered by the Palestinian people for a hundred years come from the latest form of colonialism of the empire. In the past, such an attitude could not be tolerated by mainstream Jewish culture, but this time even the mainstream of Jewish liberalism dared not refute it. In Israel, the voices of so-called extremists exposing the hypocrisy of mainstream Western propaganda were heard. This is the first time that the world has formed the largest people's great united front. It is this influence that exposes the fundamental opposition between capital and the people, allowing the future new generation to re-evaluate capital at a new starting point. 3. What is the way out? Mao Zedong’s Road The capitalist system is heading for a complete collapse, and the people have suddenly awakened from their long-term numbness. Mao Zedong’s Road must have successors. Awakening is just waking up from a dream, but the way out must be taken step by step. The will, determination, perseverance, vision, fighting ability, and perseverance required are beyond the imagination of ordinary people. Where does confidence come from? It can only be established from the experience of fighting in the face of difficulties. This is why Mao Zedong's path is so precious. Comparison of two centuries Today's 21st century world is so like China in the 20th century! The people in it are unarmed and falling apart, facing an extremely powerful capital machine, the agent of global capital, imperial power, and its comprador agents. How can the people turn over? The country is not a country, the nation is discouraged, the people are breathless, and the darkness is extreme without light. However, China is fortunate to have Mao Zedong, who led the people to fight for decades and finally established the People's China from the poorest and most backward ravines to defeat the hegemony of the US imperialism. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, it promoted the anti-imperialist and anti-capitalist trend of national independence, national liberation, and people's revolution around the world, and fought against the two hegemons of the United States and the Soviet Union, winning victory after victory. In just half a century, the history written is the miracle of China's rebirth and the roadmap for the future development of the world. The world's people's revolutionary self-help is the only way out Before Chairman Mao's death, the national liberation and people's revolution of the third world countries took China as their teacher and went to China to learn from it. That is, they took China's path as a pioneer and guide. The general direction of global national liberation and people's revolution had already appeared in the world in the last century, but it was lost due to the two major internal upheavals in China and the Soviet Union in the 1980s. Today, the awakened people of the world have put the revolutionary cause on the agenda again. It was like this in the past, but it died in the middle, and it will continue to be like this in the future. "For the sacrifices, there are many ambitions, and the sun and the moon will change the sky." I firmly believe in the following three points: 1. The capitalist system is a rotten system and it is impossible to revive. After the abolition of the international monetary gold standard, what emerged was the political and economic unification of the global dollar legal currency and the situation of American hegemony. The renewal method of imperial leadership that relied on the Great Depression and wars between powers disappeared. Once the fiat dollar loses its global currency status, it will be impossible to restore the situation of great unification. 2. It is impossible to ask the people who have stood up to fall again. China's example: After Mao Zedong's death, the Chinese ruling group surrendered to the hegemony, criticized Mao, and surrendered to capitalism for thirty years. But the people never gave in, and today's ruling group must invite Mao Zedong to maintain its legitimacy. 3. The people of the world form a great unity of the world's people in the struggle, and finally abolish the dictatorship of capital and legal rights and establish the dictatorship of people's human rights. This is the only feasible way. The justice and practice of this way are successful because of the Chinese revolution led by Mao Zedong. The most difficult thing is to get started. After the first time, the second and third times can continue until the people of the world stand up together! ========================== 【Attached photos】 (1) Bamboo slips (2) Terracotta figurines (3) Meridian portraits
