Day1: Entering the Outer Banks By KW So it all started out right where the magic happened! I know what you must be thinking where it could be, on the beach or on a beautiful romantic balcony overlooking the sea? Well where it all happened was the complete opposite of what you are thinking; it was in a car that was so stuffed that it might be ready to explode! So the only way to make myself comfortable was I must find a good way to lay down .As 8 hours went by I did whatever I could to keep myself entertained. Along the way we came to a spot where it started to drizzle, and then so suddenly it turned into one of the biggest downpours I’ve ever seen! But then we came to a bridge called Chesapeake Bay in Virginia that is 18 miles long! How cool is that! Towards the end of the bridge is a small clearing that has a peer and a restaurant and we ate there for lunch. In line we saw our friends, they left home earlier and we tried to catch up with them, but unfortunately we drove a different route and finally met on the bridge. For lunch I ate a barbecue beef burger. Once we finished our lunch we started to head out to the pier to look at the beautiful scenary. There were lots of people fishing there and we saw a man who caught a 10 lb. sheephead. The man let my dad useed it for a picture to pretend he caught it! Anyway we kept on driving after the short break and driving until we got to the rental place called Beach Side Rentals. In their office they showed their hospitality by giving out cookies and free Frisbees. Julian, Andrew’s older brother, had just accidentally thrown it up to the roof on his first try, what a chance! Finally we were here at the house. It is a very interesting one. They have apparently turned the garage into a clubhouse. I saw a foosball table, a poker game set that I would use to play Black jack. A T.V. set and a bar but we probably won’t use. Please keep this place in mind as later on in my stories I will mention this a lot. Oh! I almost forgot to mention a very important part, we spent this whole trip with a very close family friend of ours, the Peis. We picked out our beds and really just hang out in the house for the rest of this Saturday. The only time that we were doing outside of the house was going out to Subway for dinner. And after that we were just watching T.V until bed. It had been a pretty interesting day for just getting to our destination. |
