做人要厚道,临别清算要不得! honolulu 日前就香港中文大学学生会领袖在一群大学教职员和校外人士支持下无视校方反对强行将“民主女神像”移置大学校园一事在“万维博客”上载了一封信(见本博客“民主‘政阀’-- 博文约礼”一文)。该信发出后,收到一校友惠下一电邮,批驳“博文约礼”一文的观点。笔者随即再回复,现转贴回信于后,供有心人士跟进。 X校友, 拜读大作,文风泼辣,自忖不如。山野之人,不敢放言“民主”“爱国”于庙堂之上,所以前信开宗明义,“就事论事”而已,无意纠缠于无结果之辩论,尚祈见谅。 阁下谓“行政及规划委员会”无权处置一区区“神像”,然则学生会诸君有权擅自将美国制山寨版“神像”移置校园内?是否胸前挂一“民主”牌便可横行无忌? 奉劝学生会诸君,既然高唱“民主”,请尊重他人保留自己意见的权利,若要遂行己意,应循民主程序,文革批斗遗风,万万不宜倡行。尊意以为然否? 鄙人隐居海外,识见谫陋,无意参与批斗(刘校长)大会。愿再次恳切进言:做人要厚道,切忌临别清算,善哉! 清心直言,听与不听,非吾可知也! 最后,再说一遍: “当人们偏执地相信自己代表正义,永远正确,以至于不能容忍别人保留自己的意见,不再尊重他人保留意见的权利的时候,许多可笑的疯狂的事就会出现。殷鉴不远,君其三思!” 祝愉快! 一海外校友 电邮发出后,接朋友电邮声援,感慨之余,写了一段话,抄录如下,权充“免战牌”。 Personally I am pessimistic about the upcoming development of the case of the statue of "Goddess of Democracy". My impression is that those who are crying out loud always have their way. For now they have already had their way, and I am pretty sure they will continue to have their way in the near term. Having been carried away by their recent victory over the CU administration, they have forgotten what democracy actually means. Eventually they will find themselves deserted by the public.-- 神憎鬼厌。 |
