关关雎鸠,在河之洲。 Quacking doves singing for each other, on islet of the river over there;
窈窕淑女,君子好逑。 A girl of enchanting virtues both inside and out, as best match for the gentleman here.
参差荇菜,左右流之。 Leafy vegetation however tall and short, floating freely above water left and right.
窈窕淑女,寤寐求之。 The girl of enchanting virtues both inside and out, in the dreams day and night.
求之不得,寤寐思服。 Cant seem to win her heart, while thinking of her day and night.
悠哉悠哉,辗转反侧。 Tossing and turning so sleepless, how endless is the night.
参差荇菜,左右采之。 Leafy vegetation however tall and short, being picked left and right.
窈窕淑女,琴瑟友之。 The girl of enchanting virtues both inside and out, let me friend you with string musical instruments.
