YOUTH

Youth is not a time of life, 

it is a state of mind,

it is a temper of the will, 

a quality of the imagination, 

a vigor of the emotions, 

a predominance of courage over timidity,

of the appetite for adventure over love of ease. 

青春並非一段人生時光，而是一種心態，一種堅貞不渝的意志，代表着非凡的想象力，情真意切，銳氣進取戰勝裹足不前，求索精神壓倒苟且偷安。

Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years.

People grow old only by deserting their ideals.

Years wrinkle the skin, 

but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. 

Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear and despair, 

these are the long, long years that bow the head, 

and turn the growing spirit back to dust.

人不會因為歲月如梭而變老，唯放棄夢想，頓見暮色蒼茫。蹉跎歲月只會讓皮膚起皺，但一旦失去激情，真正的溝痕頓時刻進的卻是靈魂深處。憂心忡忡，顧慮重重，信心低迷，惶恐不安，唉聲嘆氣，日久天長，必然讓人垂頭喪氣，心灰意冷。

Whether they are sixteen or seventy,

there is in every being's heart, 

the love of wonder, 

the sweet amazement at the stars, 

and starlike things and thoughts,

the undaunted challenge of events,

the unfailing childlike appetite, 

for what is to come next, 

the joy and the game of life. 

不論是青少年還是老者，內心都有美好的憧憬，因群星璀璨而蕩漾和遐想，充滿天真爛漫的期待，幻想未來，永不言棄，無限快樂人生路。

You are as young as your faith,

as old as your doubt, 

as young as your self-confidence, 

as old as your fear, 

as young as your hope, 

as old as your despair. 

When the wires are all down, 

and all the innermost core of your heart, 

is covered with the snows of pessimism, 

and the ice of cynicism, 

then you are grown old indeed. 

只有堅定不移的信念讓人青春永駐，而躊躇不前催人早衰，自信和期望代表你的真實年齡，而惶恐和哀嘆加速衰老。當你自己的心理天線散落下來，當你心靈深處的樞紐積上自暴自棄的無望冰雪，那你真的垂垂老矣。

But so long as your heart receives messages, 

of beauty, cheer, courage, grandeur, 

and power from the earth, 

from man and from the Infinite, 

so long you are young. 

只要你內心自強不息，感受着大自然永恆的電磁音符，陶醉於美麗人生氛圍，勇敢面對，打造輝煌，那麼青春地久天長。
