China has international schools, English only, exactly same as schools here, All teachers are from USA. There are even more white kids in school there than schools here at Bay area. They are very expensive. normally if you are sent there by IBM for example , the company will pay you for the tuition. But those schools are not as good as top schools here, so all depend on your childern.
There are International school(s) and American school in China, they are two different things. What you described here is more like American school, in which the teachers are from US. International Schools usually recruit their teachers from Europe who hold the international teaching credential, which American counterparts usually don't have. They both are crappy schools by one of my friend account since the teachers are incompetent, though being paid generously, 6 figures salary in US money in China. The only benefit from such schools is that they speak English.
