第二天早晨，小龍女和女英就來到了位於國防部內部的共和國籌建委員會，對接待的秘書說要向常務委員，二郎神（即武二郎），匯報皇宮的建設情況。秘書一查二郎神的日程表，就說：“今天上午10點鐘，他開始午休。你們倆都是他的親戚，他肯定不介意耽誤休息。你們倆以前在這裡住過幾天，知道咱們籌委會的小食堂在哪裡。你們倆以前的房間都沒人住，如果需要你們仍然可以直接去休息。”

這倆人卻說：“不了！我們去集市吃早餐，然後逛逛集市，一會兒就回來。”

The next morning, Little Dragoness and Heroine came to the Preparatory Committee of the Republic located inside the Ministry of National Defense and told the secretary who received them that they wanted to report the construction of the imperial palace to the Standing Committee member, Second Wolf God (also known as Martial Second Wolf). The secretary checked Second Wolf God's schedule and said, "He started his lunch break at 10 o'clock this morning. You two are his relatives, and he certainly doesn't mind delaying his rest. You two have lived here for a few days before, and you know where the small canteen of our Preparatory Committee is. Your previous rooms are unoccupied, so you can still go there to rest if you need to."

The two girls, however, said, “No! We'll go to the bazaar for breakfast, and stroll around the bazaar, will be back in a little while.”

這倆人回來後，警衛員說，元帥在會客室等你們呢！警衛員去開會客室的門時，女英就把小龍女打哭了。二郎神迎出來了，問女英：“她哭什麼？”

女英回答：“她說她犯錯誤了！”

二郎神安慰說：“別哭了！沒事兒！有二伯在，天塌不了。說吧！你犯什麼錯誤了！”

When these two came back, the guard said that the marshal was waiting for you two in the parlor! When the guard went to open the door of the meeting room, Heroine beat Little Dragoness to tears. Second Wolf God welcomed them out and asked Heroine: “What is she crying about?”

Heroine replied: “She said she made a mistake!”

Second Wolf God comforted: “Don't cry! It's all right! The sky won't fall with Second Uncle here. Tell me! What mistake did you make!”

小龍女就只是哭，不說話。二郎神又問女英。

女英述說了昨天（前文）發生在工地的事。

二郎神聽完女英的敘述，回答：“那個牛郎去你們的工地找工作去了，還說那就是他以前的家。那這事有80%的可能性是真的，那座山就是座古墓。好！我再打聽打聽！” 然後，二郎神就在那兒思考，一會兒後，叨咕：“我認為這事問題不大，就是人們談論皇宮的位置時，就會有人說，‘在將軍墓旁邊！’這話聽起來不好。”

Little Dragoness just cried and didn't say anything. Second Wolf God asked Heroine again.

She described what happened at the construction site yesterday (see previous section).

After listening to Heroine's account, Second Wolf God replied: “That Cowboy went to your construction site to look for work and said that was his former home. Then there's an 80% chance that this is true, and that mountain is an ancient tomb. Good! I'll inquire again!” Then Second Wolf God was there thinking, and after a while, chattered, “I don't think there's much of a problem with this, except that when people talk about the location of the palace, they say, ‘Next to the general's tomb!’ That doesn't sound good.”

這時，小龍女不哭了，問：“二伯父，這塊地是誰給我買的？”

二郎神變得興奮了起來，回答：“我買的！十六年前，華國，夏國，和雲海國決定共同開發武漢市，許多將軍過來買地。我就跟着地產經紀人去看了這塊地。我到那兒一看就喜歡上了，花了八百兩銀子買了下來。那時，我們當將軍的都很窮。我只有八百兩銀子。別人還笑話我花八百兩銀子買了塊那麼小的（墓）地。他們有人花十五兩就買了塊比我的大幾倍的土地。可是前幾年，我們國防部周圍的土地漲價了。他們花十五兩銀子買的地還值十五兩。去年春，我和你爸（炎帝）談論起了做生意。我說我也做生意了，在武漢買了塊地，現在那兒的地價漲了很多！你爸一聽就感興趣了，問我那塊地什麼樣？我回答，‘從兩個巨石形成的大門進入。在山和湖之間有棵老槐樹。樹蔭下有石桌石凳，旁邊還有個餵牛的石槽子。我圍着那棵老槐樹一走，還發現了一把古代的軍用鐮刀。你爸立刻就喜歡上了，不停地問我那塊地上還有什麼，問我值多少錢。我覺着賺錢的機會來了，回答，‘我不懂房地產，不知道價錢！ 你認為能值多少錢？’ 你爸回答，‘我怎麼可能知道武漢好地段的地價，你認為能值多少錢？’我堅決不說價錢。”

At this time, Little Dragoness stopped crying and asked: “Second Uncle, who bought this piece of land for me?”

Second Wolf God became excited and replied: “I bought it! Sixteen years ago, Hua, Xia, and Dragon country decided to jointly develop Wuhan City, and many generals came over to buy land. I then followed the real estate agent to see the land. When I got there, I fell in love with it and paid 800 taels of silver for it. At that time, we generals were all poor. I only had 800 taels of silver. Others laughed at me for spending 800 taels of silver on such a small piece of (tomb) land. Some of them bought a piece of land several times bigger than mine for fifteen taels. But a few years ago, the price of land around our Ministry of Defense went up. The land they bought for fifteen taels of silver was still worth fifteen taels. Last spring, your father (Emperor Yan) and I talked about doing business. I said that I also did business and bought a piece of land in Wuhan, and now the price of land there has gone up a lot! Your father was interested and asked me what the land looked like. I replied, 'Enter through the gate formed by two boulders. Between the mountain and the lake there is an old acacia tree. Under the shade of the tree there were stone table and stools, and next to it was a stone trough for feeding the cows. As I walked around that old acacia tree, I also found an ancient military scythe. Your father immediately fell in love with it and kept asking me what else was on the ground and how much it was worth. I sensed an opportunity to make money and replied, 'I don't know anything about real estate, I don't know the price! How much do you think it could be worth?' Your father replied, 'How could I possibly know the price of land in a good part of Wuhan, how much do you think it could be worth?' I was adamant about not saying the price.”

小龍女忍不住笑着問：“我爸出價多少？”

女英就在後面捅她，意思是別笑；可是小龍女越來越高興。

二郎神說：“隨後幾天，我都躲着他。五六天后，他終於忍不住了，來找我，教我生意經。他說，‘做買賣得找熟人做，人越熟越容易賺錢’。我真喜歡你的那塊地，我就以你的理想價位買下來。我回答，‘兩噸黃金；你認為值不？’炎帝立刻回答，‘值！太值了！你那免費衛兵一年就值10公斤黃金。對於許多富人來說，即便捨得花費10公斤黃金在保安上，他們也享受不到你那種成都的安全。就單從這保安費來算，200年就能把兩噸黃金省出來。我給你兩噸黃金，買那塊地了。我回答， ‘成交’。”

Little Dragoness couldn't help but laugh and asked, “How much did my father offer?”

Heroine then poked her in the back, meaning don't laugh; but Little Dragoness was getting happier.

Second Wolf God said: “For the following days, I avoided him. After five or six days, he finally couldn't help himself and came to me, teaching me about business. He said, 'You have to look for acquaintances to do business, the more acquaintances you have, the easier it is to make money.' I really like that piece of land of yours, and I will buy it at your ideal price. I replied, 'Two tons of gold; do you think it's worth it?' Emperor Yan immediately replied, 'Worth it! It's so worth it! Your free guards are worth 10 kilograms of gold a year. For many rich people, even if they are willing to spend 10 kilograms of gold on security, they cannot enjoy the kind of security you have. Just from that security fee alone, buyer can save two tons of gold in 200 years. I'll give you two tons of gold for that land. I answer, 'Deal.'”

女英對小龍女說：“你很有錢！”

二郎神說：“炎帝又說，‘不過，我有個小小的條件，我直接付給你20公斤黃金。其他的1980公斤黃金我從XXX渠道轉給你。名譽上我花了20公斤黃金買的那塊地。我把那塊地作為嫁妝送給夏娃（即小龍女）。她的六位姐姐出嫁，我每人給20公斤黃金。她也不能例外，否則你的前六位侄女對我有意見。隨後，炎帝就說，他要在冬天來你家度假。買頭牛，開墾出兩畝地，給你種菜。我從國防部下班後，他陪我在你家後院的那個湖裡釣魚。他還說他要把你的六位姐姐都招呼來一起度假。我對炎帝說， ‘你都已經當皇帝了，20公斤的嫁妝太少了吧？’炎帝回答， ‘那也沒辦法，以前我窮；給老大和老二20公斤黃金的時候，我是朝媽祖借的。現在我當皇上了，我也沒法拿出十二噸黃金給他們補上。”

Heroine said to Little Dragoness: “You're rich!”

Second Wolf God said, “Emperor Yan added, 'However, I have a small condition, I will pay you 20 kilograms of gold directly. I'll transfer the other 1980 kilograms of gold to you from XXX channel. Nominally I paid 20 kilograms of gold for that land. I gave that land to Eve (i.e. Little Dragoness) as dowry. When her six sisters get married, I give each of them 20 kilograms of gold. She can't be an exception, or else your first six nieces will have a problem with me. Then Emperor Yan said he would come to your house in winter for vacation. Buy a cow and reclaim two acres of land for you to grow vegetables. After I got off work from the Department of Defense, he accompanied me on a fishing trip in that lake in your backyard. He also said he was going to get all six of your sisters to come on vacation with him. I said to Emperor Yan, 'You are already an emperor, 20 kilograms of dowry is too little, isn't it?' Emperor Yan replied, 'That can't be helped, I used to be poor; when I gave 20 kilograms of gold to the first and second daughter, I borrowed it from Mazu. Now that I'm an emperor, I still can't come up with twelve tons of gold to make it up to them.”

二郎神繼續說：“我琢磨着，你的六位姐姐來這裡度假，我們國防部離你家這麼近，我也不能不去你家看看，就說，‘你把20公斤黃金給我吧，其它的就別轉了，就當是我給夏娃的結婚禮物了。”

小龍女一邊說話一邊樂。二郎神忽然變得不高興了。警衛員進來了，低聲對他說了幾句。他站起來，說：“我過去看看，一會兒就回來！”

Second Wolf God continued, “I figured that since your six sisters were here on vacation and our Defense Department is so close to your home, I couldn't help but visit your home, so I said, ‘Why don't you just give me those 20 kilograms of gold, and don't transfer the rest, and think of it as my wedding gift to Eve.’”

Little Dragoness was happy while talking. Second Wolf God suddenly became unhappy. The guard came in and whispered something to him. He stood up and said, “I’ll go over and take a look, be back in a while!'

3.1.4-3

會客室沒有別人了，小龍女對女英說：“我就是覺得好笑。沒別的辦法，你立刻再把我打哭！”

二郎神回來後，看見小龍女在哭，就叨咕：“剛才還好好的呢！怎麼這會兒又哭了？哎呀！不就是把皇宮建在古墓旁邊了嗎！我去跟堯帝說，‘我侄女一見到我就哭個不停；當時她說在那裡建皇宮時，我同意了！這塊地還是我給買的。那我還能說啥！？ 我就對她說，‘繼續建！她不要，咱留着自己住，咱家可不缺這幾百公斤黃金！”

小龍女不停地哭。二郎神對女英說：“讓她哭吧，咱倆到那邊，你對我說說你們還有什麼別的事！”

女英述說了她們昨天討論的另一個話題： “如果堯帝不要這個皇宮，房子建好了才好賣。”

There was no one else in the parlor, and Little Dragoness said to Heroine: “I just think it's funny. There's no other way; you immediately hit me cry again!”

When Second Wolf God came back and saw Little Dragoness crying, he chattered: “You was fine a moment ago! Why are you crying now? Oops! It's just that the palace was built next to an ancient tomb! Little Dragoness kept crying. Second Wolf God said to Heroine, “Let her cry. Let's go over there and you can tell me what else you've been up to!”

Heroine recounted another topic they had discussed yesterday: “If Emperor Yao doesn't want this palace, the house will only be sold when it's built.”

二郎神回答：“不賣！堯帝不要，她就自己住着唄！如果對外拍賣，兩噸黃金的價格，那塊地肯定就被他們（熬欽，堯帝的哥哥）買走了。你們還年輕，幾年前，熬忖（即堯帝，巫山神女）成為雲海國的國王時。我宣布，‘政治犯如果主動移居海南島，我就不辦他們的罪。很多政治犯移居海南島了。事後，我就沒再追究過政治犯的事。如果小龍女以兩噸黃金的價格出賣那塊地，那很快就被他們買走了。他們就進到我的國防部里來了；我可沒時間和精力處理他們。她要賣那塊地就以原價賣給我。”

二郎神和女英聊了一段時間後，小龍女還在哭。他對女英說：“我有事，先離開了。你得把她在這屋裡勸好了，可不能哭着回去。她這麼哭着出了我的司令部，讓別人看了不好！”

Second Wolf God replied, “It's not for sale! Emperor Yao doesn't want it, so she'll just live there herself! If it was auctioned to the public, at the price of two tons of gold, that piece of land would have been bought by them (Aoqin, Emperor Yao's elder brother) for sure. You guys are still young, a few years ago, when Aocun (i.e. Emperor Yao, Goddess of Wu Mountain) became the king of the Dragon Country. I declared, 'If political criminals move to Hainan Island of their own accord, I will not have their crimes prosecuted.' Many political criminals moved to Hainan Island. Afterward, I never pursued the political criminals. If Little Dragoness sale that land for two tons of gold, it was quickly bought by them. They then came into my Ministry of Defense; I don't have the time or energy to deal with them. If she wants to sell that land, she'll sell it to me at the original price.”

After Second Wolf God had talked with Heroine for some time, Little Dragoness was still crying. He said to Heroine, “I have something to do, so I'll leave first. You must persuade her well in this house, mustn’t go back crying. It's not good for others to see her crying like that out of my command!”
