The recent flood in Wuhan has brought up the old debate of whether the SanXia Project should be built. Actually there were more than one proposal drafted by the different of groups of experts at that time. I signed everyone when it came to me for the signature. The main arguments are listed below. Our concern was that decision making has carried too much weight of politics and the personal will of some leader, but there was not enough study of all problems it may cause later。 It would not be a big deal if we worried too much, but it would be a big disaster for China if the decision was too hurry. We were glad that our opinion was heard, though we didn't know if they had done enough. We did our part . When we were in China, we were invited to witness this historic event, and to the last tour of the SanXia scenery. Good bye, the beautiful SanXia。 Good bye, my country, and my people. The lessons. So many big dams in the world have caused the different problems that people have not found the solutions.
