Japan: Japan, the largest foreign holder of US Treasuries at $1.06 trillion as of December 2024, has not been explicitly reported as selling in the last few days either. Earlier in 2025, Japan increased its holdings in January, countering claims of sales at that time. Recent market reports don’t pinpoint Japan as a seller this week, and Japan has ruled out using its Treasury holdings to counter US tariffs, suggesting stability in its position for now.
