《塔拉斯·布尔巴》是俄国著名文学家尼古拉·瓦西里耶维奇·果戈理（1809 — 1852）的长篇小说作品，它是历史题材，塑造了哥萨克英雄布尔巴的形象。
尼古莱·瓦西里耶维奇·果戈理尼古莱·瓦西里耶维奇·果戈理（Николай Васильевич Гоголь，英译：Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol，1809年4月1日 —1852年3月4日）是俄罗斯作家，善于描绘生活，将现实和幻想结合，具有 讽刺性的幽默，其最著名的作品是《死魂灵》和《钦差大臣》。
Franz Waxman (/ˈwæksmən/; born Franz Wachsmann, 24 December 1906 – 24 February 1967) was a German and American composer of Jewish descent, known primarily for his work in the film music genre. His film scores include Bride of Frankenstein, Rebecca, Sunset Boule- vard, A Place in the Sun, Stalag 17, Rear Window, Peyton Place, The Nun's Story, and Taras Bulba. He received twelve Academy Award nominations, and won two Oscars in consecutive years (for Sunset Boulevard and A Place in the Sun). He also received a Golden Globe Award for the former film.
Bernard Herrmann said that the score for Taras Bulba was the most wonderful thing.
