試翻老片《畢業生》插曲：Sound of Silence

People talking without speaking,   言者漫不經心
People hearing without listening,   聽者充耳不聞

People writing songs that voices never share   寫出的歌，無人心口應和
And no one dared     無人敢於打破
Disturb the sound of silence.   那一片沉寂的無聲之音
 
“Fools” said I,”You do not know      我說：“愚鈍的人們啊，你們難道不知
Silence like a cancer grows.      沉寂如絕症般蔓延
Hear my words that I might teach you,   聽聽我努力向你們發出的吶喊
Take my arms that I might reach you.”  接受我伸向你們竭力的助援”
But my words like silent raindrops fell,      然而我的呼喊如無聲的雨點
And echoed    墜入沉寂的深井
In the wells of silence.  低微的迴響無人聽見
 
And the people bowed and prayed     而人們只知道
To the neon god they made.      對自造的霓虹神祗膜拜頂禮
And the sign flashed out its warning,    上蒼的警語卻閃爍在
In the words that it was forming.       廣告牌顯露出的隻字片語
And the signs said, The words of the prophets       它昭示：先哲的警言
are written on the subway walls     書寫在地鐵的牆壁
And tenement halls.    書寫在貧民的住所
And whisper’d in the sounds of silence.    呢喃在一片沉寂的無聲之音里
