Keep It Simple, Stupid – it is Metaphysics

I recently pasted a few discussion on metaphysics with AI help. I found there were quite more discussion on them than before. Since early this year, I started to paste Instancology in several philosophy groups in Facebook, I haven’t got even One individual coming forward saying “I got it!”. So I wondered for a few days asking myself why people cannot understand me? The Instancology book in Chinese was published in two parts 12 years ago. During this long wait period, I did not get one book review even less an understanding what I am talking about. I used to blame this status due to two reasons. On the Chinese side, nobody understood western metaphysics, for example even Dr. Hushi (who got 32 doctorate credits in the west) could not. On the western side, I blame the language barrier for Chinese is a non European language which is possibly more difficult than Greek to them. But why I recently put my version entirely in English in Facebook, people still got puzzled or even hold animosity to my posts. And I suddenly realized, “keep it simple, stupid, it is metaphysics”.

Let me put it this way on metaphysics. Metaphysics according to Aristotle,  we can call it Metaphysics version One, i.e. M1. Metaphysics afterwards till Instancology came out, let’s call it M2. Metaphysics in Instancology, I will call it M3.

In M1, Aristotle talked about the four reasons of matters as well known to the later generations. In M2, metaphysics somehow changed course a little from the M1 original meaning, for example, Whitehead’s writing. In M1 and M2, metaphysics has been “foggy”, meaning everything is mixed. Symbols of meaning, expression of meaning, words, etc. all mixed together with the intent of metaphysics. When Kant recognized “noumenon”, or when Hegel has inserted in his encyclopedia “Absolute Spirit”, or “Absolute Knowledge”, or when Heidegger points out the “Being” should not confuse with “beings”, they all seem to realize that there is something metaphysically deeper in reality beyond words or symbols or language.

In terms of Instancology, the foggy status of metaphysics, M1, was there for most of the history, I call it under Relatively Relative (RR) layer of instancology. What Kant, Hegel and Heidegger did is trying to reach the second layer of M2, I call it Relatively Absolute (RA) layer. In this layer, Life, Logic, Law and Math (LLLM) got separated from their expressions or symbols from the RR layer of reality. I also call LLLM the “relative truth” or “Relative Absolute”.

We must remember the RA and RR layers together with natural AR (Absolutely Relative) layers all belong to the INSTANCE of the world, i.e. inside the Macro World and Micro World of Instancology.

If we humans like fish, I want to say, in RR layer, fish and water are one, one only. In Micro World of the RA layer, it is time for the” fish to jump out of the gate” to a different world, “鲤鱼跳龙门“, a Chinese proverb meaning the same thing. Of course, you can jump or try but you will occasionally be pulled back and could not escape the gravity pull, so to speak.

The most difficult part is at the stage of M3. i.e. ascend from the RR, to RA, AND keep going to reach out to the Absolutely Absolute (AA). It is like our discovery satellite launched half century ago to escape our sola system eventually.

For AA or M3 is no longer inside the Instance of the world, not in either Micro World or Macro World. AA is the launcher itself. AA is not an instance, not a physical thing, even cannot be named, not even “it”. AA is unspeakable, cannot be named. AA stays silent initiate the world Instance and then do none thing but watching.

This is a rough picture of description of Instancology, the big picture, hopefully help to understanding M3 and Instancology.
