the reason i pointed it out is because so you can teach your daughter a little bit about it, and when she gets to college, if she gets asked out by a guy, so she wont freak out, thinks that guy is in love with her or something. and if he doesnt come around for the second time, she won't be heart broken.
i dont know how it works in Canada, seems like your daughter doesnt have a date, that's kind of different here. most high school graudates have a date whom they will take to the dance, it's usually dinner before hand, then when they get there, they usually only dance a few dances, and get their pictures taken, then it was off to home, the guys usually take the girls home per request by girl's father (usually), curfew involved, plus, the father should probably know every cop in town :D jk, (10 things i hate about you).
or if it's an all day date, then either the guy or the girl will take the time to plan out a whole day's worth of activities and it was off they go and have fun, but still, bring the girl back home at a decent hour.
I am so happy for you! BTW, I was from Shenyang and Vancouver too. I really like your articles especially about your dad. You are really his wonderful daughter and a very kind lady.
Right now I live in Boston with my husband and kids. Is your daughter coming to Boston this fall? If yes, please let me know if she needs any help.
