... well, yeah, for a tear to take that long to drip down, yeah, that would be such a long face...
but that's pure making fun
what i said above is kind of a defense mechanism, in the western world, if that's your response, being all seriously defensive, it makes you stand out as an odd ball, and your co-workers will think that you can't take a joke, and the person who made fun of you will think that you are easily provoked. instead if you reply with a humorous comment, 1 you've defended yourself, 2, others will know that you can take a joke, it's easier for you and others to communicate that way, 3. the person who tried to provoke you will understand that you are willing to stand up and fight for yourself, without a drop of blood shed. ( Bu Shi Hao Qi Fu de Ren).
i remember reading an article not too long ago, someone was complaining about his/her boss has a tendency to be discrimative againt him/her.
i remember in perticular, the boss asked him/her to fix a systematic problem for their computer network at the office, and once he/she completed the task, the boss made a comment like, 'did the KGB sent you?' and this person took it seriously, and said, im from China, and KGB belongs to Russia, and i dont think this is funny!'
if it was me, i would've said, 'why, did the MI6 send you?' MI6, where James Bond works, hahahahaha, or just say ' oh, in case you haven't heard of it, it's called the CIA! ' lol, that 's the same effect.
