这次老妈从国内来，搬来了些以前的旧书。以前买来的书，读过的没读过的，出国时都一概地留了下来。那个时候实在是无心读书，只是为越洋后不知如何的生活做些不知如何的准备。

多年以后书人重逢，颇有些不忍相见的感慨。十几年前在国内买的书，印刷质量没法和现在相比，纸张单薄，字迹粗略。经过岁月的淘沉，更是显得纸叶脆薄，摆在手上像个萎缩了的生命。翻开来，书内已经透出黑黄色，封面更是有一大片不忍目睹的黄渍，好不凄惨。和那些崭崭的漂亮新书摆在一起，真有些替它们难过。

不过能在记忆里留下来，并不辞辛苦带过来的，都是些曾经喜欢的好书。而且读旧书会有意想不到的好处。某天我偶尔在《20 世纪英文观止》里发现了藏在那里的玫瑰花瓣，不知是哪一个春天的收获，香气不再，曾经的鲜艳倒还是隐约保留着。我努力地想来想去，也想不起来那是哪年，我在做什么？这样玫瑰花瓣就成了一个可爱的青春的谜。

昨天翻看那本卡夫卡的《变形记》，不期然看到书中夹杂了一张旧信纸，是以前常用的那种信纸，印着“西安市文艺路十五号”，还有邮编，电话等等。原来是一首英文诗，不知道是哪里抄来的。

Love is the warmth that fills my heart

我还隐约记得有这么首诗，当时很喜欢，认认真真抄来和他分享。现在倒觉得这首诗也未尽然。爱是什么呢？也许今天的我还可以加上一些，比如：
