Don’t ye see?
The water comes from the sky roaring,
It is (that) the Yellow River runs in torrents toward the sea and never returns.
Don’t ye see?
The aged parents look into the mirror sorrowing,
For their hair black in the morning yet white in the evening?
Let's enjoy the pleasure of life passionately,
Never raise your golden goblets to the Moon empty.
We're natural-born to achive great things,
For the gold that is gone we'll make it back again.
Butcher cattle, stew lambs,
To enjoy the beautiful feast,
Shall we drink three hundred cups.
Master Chen, Master Danqiu,
Keep drinking, no stopping,
And lend your ear to hear me singing:
Sumptuous banquet with bells and drums,
Cate as fancy as gem and jade,
These are nothing much to us,
Would that we could be drunken to death.
Sages and saints,
They'd been forgotten and forsaken into oblivion,
Only the great drinkers remained their name in tales:
Prince Chen feasted men for revelry once,
In his Peace-Joy Palace,
A keg of wine was worth ten thousand coins.
Why our host complain of short of coins?
Wouldn't thou just purchase more cups so we could sip with thee,
Here're a precious pinto and a furred-coat,
Worth a thousand of golden coins,
Just call thy serving boy, to trade them for the best luscious wine,
Let's drink to dispel the sadness of ten thousand years.
