江戶時期日本浮世繪大師歌川囯貞的仕女圖,鶴立鷄群,有今樣立見士農工商系列,講的就是女子能頂半邊天的故事:
上面的這一幅圖,說的就是浮世繪雕版印刷的製版和印刷過程,從繪畫到刻版到研墨到套色印刷一氣呵成,都是女工。這一幅浮世繪,至為經典,在大都會博物館和大英博物館都有收藏。
To represent artisans, one of the four classes (along with warriors, farmers, and merchants) of the Edo period, Kunisada replaced the men more typical of the social category with women, and illustrated the interior of a woodblock printer’s studio. The figure at a table on the right carves fine lines into a woodblock through a sheet of paper bearing an artist’s preparatory drawing.
不過這一幅,并非是原創。而是脫胎於浮世繪大師喜多川歌麿(1753-1806)的早年作品《江戸名物錦絵耕作》,該作品現存于芝加哥美術學院;
Kunisada certainly was inspired by a triptych of the same subject designed by Kitagawa Utamaro (1753-1806) titled Artist, Block Carver, Applying Sizing, from the series, The Cultivation of Brocade Prints, A Famous Product of Edo (Edo meibutsu nishiki-e kosaku: Eshi, hagashi, dosa-biki) published in circa 1803. In comparison of the two compositions, Kunisada adjusted the configuration of the beauties carving and applying sizing and moved them to the right and center sheets while adding more technical details in the area of printer's section which he located to the far left.

還有一幅,是說女子務農的,不記得具體在哪兒看到過一張,是一個女子,懷抱嬰兒,坐在稻穀上面休息,和下面的這一幅比較相近,等找著了再一并貼出來。
