Hello SunRunners :
As
we enter the second half of our training, we will change the route
direction and run south bound along the dyke. Hope this will give us a
new mind set & renewal our motivation in the pursuit of our personal
best 10K. Work hard on your fund raising as well and do not forget that
we are not only SunRunners but also Heart To Heart Runners.
We
will increase our practice distances by 1km for both groups to continue
to build endurance. The 60- group should time yourself because we will
be doing 10 km this week. The 60+ group will be doing 8 km. Again, use
interval running to increase your base speed.
As
promised, I will bring power boosters or energy gel for you to try. It
helps to take a pack 15 minutes before the race. The concentrate energy
gel may upset your stomach so a bit of taster this week will help you to
test your body's reaction to it. Bring water to wash it down if you
like.

Route : 8K for 60+ group , from meeting place to Williams and back
10K for 60- group, from meeting place to Steveston and back
Do
not be intimidated by the thought of running from "one end of Richmond
to the other end and back". The power of our mind is the make and break
factor, not your legs.
