Now the run:
By now, all of you can complete the 10km Sun Run. The remaining
practices is for you to build more confidence & to achieve your
personal best time. Both will ultimately lead to more fun, satisfaction
and reward on race day.
We
will keep our practice distances the same for both groups to prepare
our bodies for longer runs next week. The 60- group should continue to
time yourself. Again, use interval running to increase your base speed.
Some
of you asked me to clarify on running the tangent line. In pratical
sense, it means to run from corner to corner & edge to edge.
&It achieve the shortest distance between 2 points. This is
perfectly aceptable in a race & will save you time. Do not
underestimate this technique. It makes a huge difference to finish in
60:01 and 59:59. Please look at the attached diagrams for ease of
understanding.
