The heroic democracy movement in China in 1989 ended with the Tiananmen massacre tragedy on June 4th. This truly anarchist revolution was further betrayed by the Japanese government and all state powers overseas of China. To commemorate the 25th anniversary in Beijing, I have planned for several years. I chose Sohu.com, a Delaware-registered, China-operated company. Last year November I submitted a shareholder proposal with the following statement:
"As shown from the “Three Representatives” policy of Jiang Zemin (who came to power from the Tiananmen Tragedy in 1989 without legitimacy), China’s social order and economic situation are very tense".
Sohu hired a law firm in Boston to exclude my proposal but the U.S. SEC sided with me. Eventually, I flied to Beijing in June and presented my proposal (http://cpri.tripod.com/cpr2014/sohuproxy2014-proposal4.pdf). More than one fourth shareholders voted for my proposal. What a commemoration for our great movement a quarter century ago!
