Re: America’s Asian Policy Reform
Dear Mr. Trump and Governor Pence:
Congratulations. As an expert of China and Japan, I would point out that the biggest mistake and failure of our current administration is America’s foreign policy, especially on Asia. The Japanese government has misled the U.S. under the U.S.-Japan Security Treaties to crash with the rising power of a nationalistic China. For example, the U.S.-Japan Joint Statement on April 25, 2014 includes such dangerous contents as: "These commitments extend to all the territories under the administration of Japan, including the Senkaku Islands." The U.S. should encourage Japan to solve this historical dispute with China directly. The U.S. simply does not have the need and resource to back Japan to conflict with China over such a trivial issue. To warn the Obama administration and the general public, I had to submit a proposal to 2015 IBM annual meeting with the above warning messages (Proposal #7 http://cpri.tripod.com/cpr2015/IBM-2015-Proxy-Statement.pdf). Please refer to my book _The US-Japan Alliance and its Interactions with China_ (http://www.lulu.com/shop/jing-zhao/us-japan-alliance-and-its-interactions-with-china/paperback/product-21330316.html) for more policy reform. The Obama administration, including the State Department under Secretary Clinton, misused power by rewarding their unqualified friends to important diplomatic positions, such as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan. This corrupt practice should be stopped. The U.S. has many talented experts from all over the world to serve the public. Please nominate qualified experts to important Asian policy positions, especially the U.S. Ambassadors to China, Japan and Korea.
