Inner Peace As many would say, life comes down to the soul. The soul is the most important part of the life cycle, and it proved to be worthy in the movie “Kung Fu Panda 2.” Po, the panda who was the dragon warrior of Kung Fu, was set on a dangerous and unforgettable mission to save China from the evil peacock, Shen. A long time ago, Shen, a peacock with great power, who was in line to become emperor of China, betrayed the works of his parents by using the invention his parents made of fireworks for dark uses. Shen’s parents forced their son to be banished from the city because of the evil purposes of Shen’s intentions. Shen vowed for revenge and promised that one day, all Chinese will bow down to him. In the later years, Shen’s parents died, but Shen didn’t care and laughed it out. All he cared about was his goal to become the supreme of China. A fortune teller told Shen that if he were to succeed as ruler of China, he would have to defeat a great panda warrior and the five kung fu heroes in the later years of his life. That led Shen to set out and move all the pandas far out of the reach of Shen and his goal. One mother panda decided that it was time to part ways with her son and leave to avoid any of the wolf henchmen sent out by Shen. She left him in a radish basket to live. Even though that was the past, the future was yet to wait as a big battle arose from the dust. Shen decided that if he were to defeat any of the people the fortune teller said, they would come, then he would have to build something greater than anyone imagined. After a great deal of planning and thinking and more planning and more thinking, he knew what he was going to build. He was going to build a fire ironclad cannon which shot out a ball of metal that had fire on it (notice that it was in the period of Ancient China, they didn’t have any cannons or guns that you could buy from the stores.). Several years later, Shen gathered all the materials needed and started to build the greatest machine ever. He recruited thousands of wolves to help speed up the process. On the other side of the country, Shi fu had just realized what was at stake for him, Po (Dragon Warrior), and the Fantastic Five. Shi fu knew that Kung Fu couldn’t stop Shen and his machine(s), except the soul. The only way to do that was to have inner peace within oneself. He called Po over and they talked about inner peace and had a demonstration. Po, at first didn’t know what Shi fu was talking about. He didn’t have a chance to be taught thoroughly because Shi fu knew it was time to face Shen and his crew. Po, Tigress, Vipress, Monkey, Crane and Mantis battled through the weather over the seasons. After a long time of arriving on the road, they finally made it through to the city where Shen lived. Word spread through the street quickly, so Shen knew by then that a panda was coming for him. At first, Shen didn’t believe it because he had got rid of all the pandas. After a lot of convincing, he sent out his wolves to check the area for a panda. Po got through the city without anyone noticing in a weird way, traveling as a dragon in a costume, eating wolves and pooping them out (funny part of the movie.) They arrived at Shen’s towering palace, but were soon trapped by all the wolves serving Shen. They were taken into the palace where Shen laughed when he saw Po. He wondered how he could be the dragon warrior. So Shen didn’t kill Po as he first thought he would mainly because of Po’s stupidity. After a while of weird talking, Shen raised the dragon ironclad, and aimed it at Po and his friends. Suddenly, one false move was made and Mantis got out of his small cell and helped friends out quickly in a second, and they quickly destroyed the machine and killed some wolves. Shen was trapped by Po, but Shen’s feathers created a flashback in Po’s head to the time he was left. In that split second, Shen got away, and started firing flame arrows at the five. They quickly dodged and weaved out of the way, and escaped. After this fierce fight, Po got riddled out of the mission because of not getting Shen. Po explained to Tigress why, but Tigress was still not convinced. So Po had to stay in prison with Ox and Crock, two of the best Kung Fu masters who were surrendered. Po instead escaped the cell and headed out to attack Shen. When they met, Po was shot out far into a river by the dragon ironclad. The fortune teller saved him and healed Po. The fortune teller tried to make Po remember his hometown right where he was. Po kept on fighting not to remember, but the fortune teller told Po to let it flow from within his heart. Once Po let the memory and the truth flow, he found his inner peace. That was amazing! Inner peace flowed in his soul as he jumped back to the city to fight and destroy Shen once and for all. Once he arrived there, he saw his friends ready to be lit on fire. He jumped and started killing wolves and Po let friends go. Suddenly, Master Ox and Crock came to help because of the power and strength of the Kung Fu compared to the evil work of Shen. Eight of them stormed through killing wolves and setting traps. Finally, it came down to Po and Shen within the dragon ironclad. Shen shot Po with a metal fire ball, but Po fought back by using Inner Peace to send the metal fire ball away from him. Shen shot Po again. It kept on going and slowly but surely Po was winning. At last Po destroyed the ship and Shen died. When Po went back home, he told his goose dad about his life and where he’d come from. It was a defining moment. My favorite part of the movie was when Po did inner peace. It was really shocked to see someone use power from inside his body to defeat something on the outside. The funniest part was when Po was acting as a dragon in a costume and ate and pretended to poop wolves with his friends. This movie made me think from the soul and not just from the outside. I will never forget this movie because of its Inner Peace. My Mom said I might understand more about Inner Peace once I grow up. Maybe she is right, I think.
