美國萬歲 – 給孩子們的信
Dear sons
I can help to write this to you.
I have just finished watching tonight’s presidential election. I am deeply touched and inspired by both candidates, by the voters and by the spirit that still strongly and freshly alive in this country: That is the spirit and power of democracy and unity, the spirit of devotion, responsibility and love to our beloved country. I have no doubt in my mind that she, the USA is still the greatest country on earth.
When Obama was announced to be the winner, the elected president of the United States, I saw all the crowds with all the laughter, the tears and cheers.
The reactions come from the wide world as far as Obama’s very origin hometown: the Africa. The reaction comes as an ego from the very deep of the American history. There are peoples who have witnessed Martin Luther King’s speech and live to see that Dr King’s dream come true right now at this moment: An ordinary black boy, who is now only 47 years old can be the president of the United States. Like Obama himself states: who still doubts that all is possible in this country?
Tonight more parents than ever say that their kids can be a president. I am among those parents. That makes me praise and love this country so much.
America has been in huge difficulties. People are looking for changes, for hopes. Tonight I can see that in many voters’ eyes. In fact many supporters of McCain express their joy too. Isn’t that awesome!
Tonight McCain shows his great personality, his genuine love to this country and to his supporters. He is called the American Hero who has been such a devoted servant to this country he loves. He expresses his true respect and admiration to Obama. That just shows another beauty of American democracy. I still remember during this long hard campaign how these two opponents fought against each other. But when it comes to the end, how they support each other because we are fellow Americans like McCain says and we share the same dream and great responsibility to make this country a better place to live for our next and next generations.
I seems to like McCain’s speech better which is so full of the passion of loving, caring, self-sacrificing and humbleness, which shows such a royal heart of an American servant, although Obama’s speech is full of the passion of leading this country towards a critical change.
It is true that American starts its great change and turning point tonight. We the American people as a whole are determined to restore the prosperity of this country and to take it to a higher level of greatness. And when the America changes, the world changes. The United States of America should be able to bring more peace and offer better aspects to this world.
I hope that tonight will be a wonderful inspiration and new start to many young kids like you guys too. Please share some of your thoughts with me. I will be extremely happy to read your responds. Once again I believe that the greatest joy goes to those who love, who care and who actively take the responsibilities.
From the deepest faith and the bottom of our heart, as always, May God lead and bless America.
Love to you,
mom
