Dear Everyone Back Home: (瞧瞧这 teenager 的“酷”劲儿,就叫“Dear Dad, Mom, and Andy” 不就行了吗,非要来个“Everyone back home"!)
They don't allow cell phones at the camp!! It sucks!!! Looks like I'll just have to communicate through mail ... Sigh....
Well, besides the phone issue :(, things are going pretty darn smoothly here at BLFAC (camp 的名称简写)! First of all, I'm proud to say that the audition went way better than I thought -- I am currently 6th chair in the 2nd violin section in the Masterworks Orchestra, the highest orchestra at BLFAC! We are working on Tchykovsky's (mind my spelling) Symphony No. 6, Pathetique, which is really giving me a run for my money!
Second, I have happily discovered that there is a singer, a guitarist, and a drummer in my cabin who I have joined to create a band to play in the talent show. We are calling our band "Subject to Change". The song we wrote was very impressive. I'm the violinist in the band. We are gonna rock at the talent show!
I also beat the breakdance master in front of about half of the camp, and will dance to bagpipe at a concert! My cabin mates are pretty cool too, we have a bunch of weird nicknames for everyone. Mine is the "Asian Wonder". One guy lost a bet to his sister and had to paint his nails hot pink!! They are also encouraging me to ask a girl to go to dance, based on the saying "What happens at camp, stays at camp!".
Final requests: Alert April, Jason, and Dan that I can't contact them via phone, but I can write them. Tell Andy to behave. I'll make up for the time lost while I'm away by playing (loads of) Yu-Gi-Oh games with him!! Please water the plants and take care of my room while I'm away, but don't look in my folders!!
