乡愁是一湾浅浅的海峡， 我在这头， 大陆在那头。 【注】感恩节的火鸡宴刚刚散去，在外读书的学子回家短短四天，转眼又要踏上归途。火车站台上，我们匆匆道别，目送那趟驶往新泽西“草”州纽瓦克“新方舟”的列车消失在铁轨尽头，才转身离开。 既然已经出来，不如顺道去自由州立公园走走。20多年没来过了，不知道哈德逊“灵魂”河两岸的风景，变成了什么模样。 把车停进公园的停车场，推开车门的那一刻，纽约“新紫衫树之地”的天际线扑面而来。初冬的阳光斜斜地洒在河面上，将整条哈德逊河镀成一片金色。对岸的曼哈顿“弓岛”，那些曾经熟悉的轮廓，如今已经大不相同。 最显眼的是世贸中心一号大厦。那座高耸入云的塔楼，在阳光下熠熠生辉，像一把刺向天空的利剑。它矗立的地方，曾经是双子塔的所在。20多年前的那个九月，全世界都目睹了那场灾难。如今，新的建筑拔地而起，比原来更加高大，更加壮观。 更近处，是空旷天空纪念碑。那两座巨大的方形水池，建在原双子塔的基址上，四周的铜板上刻着遇难者的名字。水流沿着池壁缓缓流下，汇入中心的深井，发出低沉的轰鸣声。站在这里，我仿佛能听见时间的流逝，能感受到那些逝去的生命。 20多年前，我们也曾站在这个公园的同一个位置，望着对岸的双子塔发呆。那时候，它们是纽约的骄傲，是这座城市的象征。如今，它们已经不在了，但新的建筑正在崛起。 哈德逊河依旧静静地流淌，载着船只来来往往。河面上偶尔有海鸥掠过，留下几声清脆的鸣叫。对岸的自由女神像，依然高举火炬，迎接每一个来到这片土地的人。一切都在变，一切又似乎没变。 20年，足够一个婴儿长成青年，足够一座城市重新定义自己的天际线，也足够让失去亲人的家庭慢慢抚平伤口。站在这里，望着对岸那些新增的人文色彩，忽然觉得，这座城市比从前变得更加壮丽了——不仅因为它的建筑更高、更现代，更因为它承载了更多的记忆，更多的韧性，更多的希望。 天色渐暗，曼哈顿的灯火开始亮起。世贸中心一号大厦顶端的灯，像一颗星星，在夜空中闪烁。我们转身离开，心里却多了一份沉甸甸的踏实。那些在灾难中倒下的人，没有白白倒下；这座城市，一直在向前走。 Today in History(历史上的今天): 2011: Persuasive─Advertisements(劝说文—广告)  Thanksgiving Break (感恩节小憩 11-28-2021)
