走进姆迪纳，便走进了一片几乎凝固的时光。这里的街道窄得只容得下阳光与影子并肩而行，两旁蜂蜜色的石墙在千百年的日晒风吹中沉淀出温润的质感。没有车马的喧闹，没有市集的嘈杂，只有风穿过拱门时留下的叹息，和偶尔传来的教堂钟声。当地人叫它“寂静之城”，这个名字并非夸张——即便是2011年美国奇幻剧集《权力的游戏》来此取景，将这座古城的城门与巷弄展现在全球观众面前，慕名而来的影迷也未能打破它骨子里的沉静。那种静不是空洞的沉寂，而是沉淀了4,000年历史之后的从容，是一种见过太多兴衰荣辱之后的淡然。

站在姆迪纳的城墙上，我顿时安静下来。整个马耳他岛铺展在眼前——田野、村庄、教堂的圆顶、远处模糊的地平线，全被一层淡金色的光晕温柔地笼罩着。4,000年来，有多少人曾站在我这个位置？罗马的百夫长、阿拉伯的学者、骑士团的大团长，他们都曾在此凝视过同一片风景。如今那些人早已散去，连名字都吹散在风里，可城墙还在，城门还在，窄巷深处的庭院里，柠檬树依然年年结果。姆迪纳不再是一座都城，它更像一本用石头写成的史书——沉默着，却比任何喧嚣都更耐心地讲述着漫长的故事。而我此刻站在这里，不过是翻开了新的一页。
