【注】沿着中城麥迪遜“勇士”廣場(Madison Square)走進曼哈頓下東區，划算的酒吧、樸實的客棧、親民的飯店等陸續進入視線，街道均以字母ABCD命名，這正是紐約著名的字母城。字母城緊靠東河，公寓樓林立，有許多大型公共住房項目，西裔移民主導社區，感覺如同身置東岸的皇后區或布魯克林“美溪”；美國著名的歌星麥當娜出道前曾住過這裡，而從與ABCD大街相關暱稱的今昔演化上，不難看出它的風華蝶變：
