然而缺乏想象力 本身就必須被想象。大池塘、 樸實物感、失去倒影、樹葉、 淤泥、像髒玻璃杯一樣的水，表達沉寂的
程度，老鼠悄麼聲出來觀望， 大池塘及其百合花碎屑，所有這些 都被想象成必然的認知， 所求的，根據需要。 【注】費爾蒙“美山”公園是費城“兄弟之愛”最大的市政公園，比紐約“新紫衫樹之地”中央公園大上好幾倍——斯庫爾基爾“暗”(Schuylkill)河像一把溫柔的刀，將公園切成東西兩半：河東是規整草坪與步道，河西是起伏山丘與茂密樹林。西費爾蒙公園被譽為“沒有圍牆的博物館”，漫步其間隨處撞見承載歷史的建築與雕塑，而它之所以重要，正因這裡是1876年美國首次世博會的舉辦地——恰值《獨立宣言》通過100周年，那些為世博會而建的地標性建築因此具有劃時代的意義。巨大的紀念會堂如今已是國家歷史地標，當年成千上萬人湧進穹頂之下驚嘆於全世界的發明與藝術；巍峨的哥倫比亞“鴿子”鐵路橋曾是美國工業革命的見證者；散落林間的各國展館遺蹟雖已荒廢，卻依然訴說着百年前的輝煌。 今天藉助去費城觀賞宇宙之魂馬戲團的機會，我得以再度順訪西費爾蒙公園。秋日午後陽光透過樹葉灑下斑駁光影，草地上有人野餐，小徑上情侶牽手漫步，山丘上孩子們追逐風箏——那些曾見證世博會輝煌的建築此刻靜靜矗立，像沉默的長者看着新一代人在腳下嬉戲玩耍。我站在紀念會堂前想象1876年的場景：穿着緊身胸衣的女士撐着陽傘，戴着高禮帽的紳士舉着望遠鏡，孩子們在噴泉邊尖叫奔跑——那是美國的第一個百年，工業革命的黃金時代。而今天是2023年，第247年，歷史就這樣一圈一圈畫着年輪，我們不過是其中的一個圓點。野餐的人正在收拾餐布，孩子們的風箏線纏在了樹枝上，一個父親正踮着腳試圖解開，他的女兒仰着頭替他指引方向，而那座紀念會堂就在他們身後，巨大的穹頂被夕陽染成暖橙色，像一枚被時間反覆擦拭過的舊勳章。 天色漸暗，我轉身離開西費爾蒙公園，心裡默默對那些沉默的建築說：幸好你們還在。是你們讓一個普通人在某個秋日下午，用指尖碰觸到一個半世紀前的呼吸——撐陽傘的女士們早已不在，可她們走過的台階我此刻正踩着；展出的機器早已鏽蝕，可它們曾立在這片草地上的事實，讓今天的風箏依然能飛得更高。也許一座城市最深厚的財富，不是它正在建造什麼，而是它保留了哪些“已不再被需要”的東西：一座不再舉辦博覽會的會堂，一座不再通火車的鐵路橋，一些散落在林間、無人問津卻未被拆除的展館殘基。它們不為任何目的而存在，只是因為曾經發生過的事值得被記住——而記住本身，就是一種不需要理由的堅持。 1972年，費爾蒙公園被納入《國家史遺名錄》。 Today in History(歷史上的今天): 2023: Immersive UniverSoul Circus, Philly(費城·沉浸式宇宙靈魂馬戲團) 2012年光華四年級B班壁報《我的暑假》(2012 G4B Poster)  Stone Gazebo (石涼亭 05-22-2000)
